With the Quidditch finals over at last, Adrian suddenly found himself with a lot more free time on his hands, particularly in the evenings. For a solid week after the final game, he'd holed up in Hogsmeade, relieved not to have to travel every night as he had been since January. Finally the things he and Pansy had bought were put out, making his home seem more, well, home-like.

Now that some time had passed, Adrian felt up to venturing out again, catching up with everything that he'd missed during the playoffs. To that end, he and Merry met in London, at a pub known for its collection of whiskey.

Adrian ordered a glass of the Auchentoshan 3 Wood for himself, and when they both had a glass in hand, he raised his to Merrill. "Thanks for coming out, Mer. I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation, or something equally poetic."

Cormac had spent most of his day unpacking a new shipment of things, maybe taking a bit longer than necessary as he checked out all the new equipment and gear. The task would have been boring if it weren't for all the cool things he got to look at, but he didn't mind the task when the products caught his interest. He was working on unpacking the new Cleansweep model to set up a display when the door opened and chimed. Reluctantly taking his eyes off the brand-spanking-new broom, he looked up and nodded to Merrill. "Alright, mate?"

Though the weather wasn't quite as ideal as on past Saturdays - there was a slight chill to the Scottish air, as well as the threat of rain in the grey clouds overhead - Merrill, Roger, and Violet were ensconced in the garden by 5:00 p.m. As narrow as the townhome (though long in length), the green space was wild with colour - and well-stocked with food and beverage, now.

Merrill's Monday afternoon had the mark of an unhurried stretch of hours, with Violet at her grandparents' and no outstanding commitments to attend to. Just before noon, he stopped in at Honeydukes and The Three Broomsticks, then walked the short distance to Spintwitches. With the bright sound of the welcome bell at his heels, he further announced his presence with, "Lunch delivery for the devilishly handsome shop boy."

Merrill hadn't had the easiest of weeks, and Roger was worried sick. He was covering it up with a brave face, but he knew Merrill knew too. That evening, he had made a special trip to Inverness, young Violet in tow, to pick up Merrill's favorite flavor of ice cream while the roast baked in the oven and Merrill looked after it. Father and daughter returned just in time to meet an unfamiliar owl as it came in and deposited a thick, formal-looking envelope in Roger's hand.

"Looks like we've got mail," Roger said, juggling between Violet, the ice cream, and the envelope. "Mer, is the roast done yet?"

Though during the winter months the Great Lake Picnic had been put on hold, but now that the weather has become warmer, the first of the picnics for the year 2006 was well under way. As with previous picnics, the Town Council sponsored the provision of some food, invited a few Hogsmeade vendors over, and allowed residents to come bring their own food. There was music in the background and a campfire in the middle of the field. There are no organised activities, the picnic a purely social community activity.

Nine o'clock was early for Lucian, but he knew he was friends with people who would be dozing off around the 10pm mark, so he gave in and allotted them an hour to participate. Any earlier, however, and he would need to include proper food and turn the affair into a dinner party, which he was not interested in.

Noctis was a wizarding establishment located in the heart of London, an abandoned-looking, boarded up shack in the middle of bright neon lights and the loud music of Muggle nightclubs, that caters only to wizarding clientele, run by an old family friend of the Boles. Half the club was allocated for Lucian's party, the dance floor full of scantily clad women and a handful of equally good-looking men. There were appetizers and small snacks, of course, but Lucian had made sure the bar was open for everyone.

The weather was too nice to waste, and Violet too sugar-happy to ignore. When Roger returned from his afternoon shift at work, he'd gone to drop off the cupcakes right around lunch time earlier, he was eager to drag both Merrill and Violet out to enjoy the warmth.

"Yes, we're gonna go flying, Vi," he told his daughter, her toy broom in one hand and Violet's hand in another. "Are you excited?"

It was warmer in the city than it was father north, and the fine weather seemed to have brought everyone out that evening, judging by the number of pedestrians that greeted them outside the Leaky Cauldron. Or maybe Millicent had just gotten used to the small population of Hogsmeade. She and Merry merged into the flow of foot traffic, sticking close together and keeping conversation to a minimum until a few turns away from the Leaky Cauldron brought them to a quieter street.

"Bloody hell," Millicent muttered, tugging at the hem of her light jacket. "All of London chose tonight to eat out, it seems like. You fancy anywhere in particular?"

Len had never been the kind of person to just up and move someplace-- it usually took her such a long time to get comfortable with the idea of change that anytime she did, there was a plan in place and that she could be as comfortable about it as possible.

She had been willing to stick it out with St. Mungo's for longer than she did once Healer Pye had left, but she did begin applying to other hospitals. She'd been lucky enough to have been accepted at Woodcroft, as well as at the hospital in Brighton, but Woodcroft felt more familiar, smaller and more personal in a way that St. Mungo's never did, and which Brighton only hinted at being.

Now here she was, the week before she was scheduled to start, spending almost every day in Hogsmeade just to get acclimated. The first few days had been spent looking at apartments, but there were few that looked right and she was holding out hope that she could find something soon, or she'll have to commute by Floo temporarily. There were a few new stores around that got her attention, too, and she hoped she'd be able to drop by and see what they offered.

Amoreuses was a fine dining establishment about to open its doors in Diagon Alley. To test the market they had sent out invitations to Diagon Alley residents as well as other known wizarding locations, Hogsmeade included, for a soft opening on Thursday night. A sampling menu was given out, including some specially charmed meals that were specific for couples in attendance.

One of these was a Chocolate Lover's Dessert, which was intended to intensify amorous emotions with one's partner. Unfortunately a disgruntled former partner of Amoreuses had snuck in the kitchen and sabotaged two of the desserts going out, so that two unsuspecting halves of a pair would find themselves enchanted with one another instead...

Dragon Barrel Brewery, well-weathered when Merrill's grandfather was younger than he was now, wore its age well. Its private room was modern, with original details that paid homage to its successful past. And as was appropriate at any gathering between friends, the liquor flowed freely, the open bar Merrill's last-minute nod to hospitality. The meal was sorted, as well, and the atmosphere casual, jovial.

Tracey hadn't been able to sit through the entire show at all, watching from just behind the curtains as her models took to the runway with the newest Gladrags collection. It was by no means the best she'd seen around that week- she'd focused on wearable wizard clothing, and had only hoped that the show would put Gladrags back on the map, and be well-received- but there was still something completely exhilarating watching the designs she'd so painstakingly put together come to life under the light and high ceilings of a wizarding museum's lobby. From where she watched she saw Merrill and Roger, with Violet on Merrill's lap, and Caleb too, giving him a small wave when he caught her eye.
