So, in an effort to not be a total looser-layabout, I have a new job at the university. Political Science Professor - a bit of a change from working in the White House, but I'll take it.

Are the kids around these parts rabid, or am I just freaking out for no good reason?

Magical wishes can't be good.

Sir Knight, I have a job for you.

Penny and Serena
I'm going out for a few hours and stopping by the gun range. For the rest of the day, I don't know. You guys need me to get anything on my way back?

Steve
So now that you're not as flustered and I'm now sober enough to ask, you're not mad about the big surprise party, right?

Stefan
Hey. How a

I know we should never underestimate A, but wormholes and that hologram person? That seems a little out of A's range of capabilities. So, either I'm having a really vivid dream or...I'm not even sure what else it could be.

The zoo here is a lot bigger than the one where my mom worked. Lots more animals but also a lot more space, and they're part of a few breeding programs. It's sort of cool, especially coming across animals I've worked on before. Mostly birds but there's some rabbits and bats and things too. I'm really, really looking forward to being back in a vet clinic, anyway, even if I probably won't be allowed to do as much hands-on stuff as my parents trusted me with.

The elephants and red-tailed hawks make me sad, though.

It looks like I also have heaps of files and brochures to read about the Pre-Vet Med/Sciences program. At least I won't be short of things to do, I guess.

A magical wishing well? I've seen too many movies not to know how this is going to go.

Also, I am extremely disappointed I'm not going to be able to give this kickass birthday present to my best friend. Nice timing, wormhole.

We have to talk about Clara.

While we're all side eyeing the wishing well, say hello to Presley, whom I'm pretty sure my fiancé likes more than he likes me at this point.

My original no-dogs-on-the-bed plan? Totally ruined. I had such high hopes.

Matt & Stiles:
Blaine is adamant that Presley not be left home alone because he's just a puppy and it'll make him sad, so at least until he gets a little older he's coming into the office with me. Considering I spend half of my time doing Matt's shopping (you're welcome), it probably won't make a huge difference anyway.

I hope neither of you are allergic or have a hate-on for adorable baby animals.

You're not going to use the coins, are you?

Private to Caspian:
I was researching marriage licenses in Portland and... I think we won't be allowed to get married here, because we're too young. What's most frustrating is that I wasn't always this young...

Anyway, it says that we need the written consent of our parents or guardians, and in the absence of such, we would need to have been living here for six months and provide an Affidavit stating these facts from a third party. I've only been here since March, and I don't even know if Holly registered us as residents of Portland. This is a bit maddening, and I'm about to march over to her and pose all these questions to her. I don't know what else to do!

And... since the shelter seems to be quiet lately, I've had time to jot down several questions that are pertinent to our... union sounds so posh. Nuptials? Eh... I know it's all sort of nitty gritty, but I think we definitely need to have this discussion sooner rather than later.

1. Do you have a last name? Is that a silly question? Would you mind if I kept mine? I'm not really sure if I actually want to, but I'm thinking about it.

2. After we obtain the license, we have 60 days to have the ceremony, in which, I think should be done at the Clerk's Office. I'm... not really religious enough to want a church wedding, nor do I really believe I should have one, though I still fully intend on wearing white. A church wedding is also far more expensive. At the ceremony, however, we need at least two people 18 or over to witness it. Who? I've always wanted my sister to be my Maid of Honor, but... she isn't here (nor is she over 18 but that seems irrelevant at this point). And I don't really have many friends, so...

3. In lieu of a reception, I would prefer to have a small get together with... anyone we might consider as friends here. We're on a bit of a tight budget as it is, but I believe a small party won't set us back too much. So, where should we hold the party? Who should we invite? I hear there are things called "DJs" that play music at parties. We should probably get one.

4. Bank accounts. Should we get a joint one? Should we add each others names to ours?

5. Honeymoon? It's not like we could go anywhere for more than 24 hours.

6. And finally... Where will we live?

This isn't too much, is it? I'm sort of bored and couldn't help but think of all this. Do you have any questions you might like to add? I have some other questions in mind, but those are more... of a personal nature.

Private to Girls Only
Supposing a girl is about to get married, and she honestly hasn't a clue as to what she's going to wear on her wedding night nor what she intends on doing for her new husband on said night, being of little to no experience in that department... what advice would you give her?

[info]hitbylightning in [info]portland_net

I don't want to say I'd rather be dead, but...

Pretty sure I should be dead. Not on social media. Unless this is a thing people do in the afterlife. Is this a thing people do in the afterlife?

Who wants my coins? I'm not stupid enough to use them.

[info]montgomerystyle in [info]portland_net

I guess I'm not in Rosewood anymore.

Okay, skipping past the part where I'm freaking out about being sucked through a wormhole and ending up in some weird version of Portland, does that mean that this place doesn't have A? I mean, since this is a different world and all that, it stands to reason that A doesn't exist here, right? Because that would be such a relief. No A. No Ali haunting us. No Rosewood police asking stupid questions all the time. A new start to be whoever you want to be.

What's college like here?

[info]echoesoftime in [info]portland_net

But there isn't anything I want. At least not that comes out of a well.

[The Doctor]
I would love to get some ice cream with my favourite dad though! Jack's come back so I'm not working late anymore this week.

How come Donna thinks she remembers me if she doesn't remember me?

I know that everyone is distracted by the new arrivals and the coins, but I'd like to announce that this weekend, there will be a memorial for those who were lost in the invasion. It'll be held on the Redwood Deck in the Hoyt Arboretum, starting at 6pm on Saturday night (the 19th). There will be a chance for anyone who would like to speak about their experiences or the losses of their loved ones (though I think those on this network were lucky enough not to experience the latter). And some of it will involve candle lightings, but minimally, so that we don't burn the arboretum down.

If anyone wants to come early to organize, I won't turn down the help. (Thank you so much to Barry and Jess for all the work you've already put in, I couldn't have done it without you.) I think it's important that we honor everyone whose lives were lost or changed by that horrible siege, even if we didn't know them personally. Then maybe we can find our way back to our (relatively) normal lives, along with the native residents of the city.
