It's probably too early to say anything, but it's about time we had some good news around here, so I'm saying it anyway.

I'm developing an early warning system for the red portals.

I don't expect it will entirely prevent disappearances, as the energy signatures appear to only become readable within minutes of the portal appearing. The ultimate goal is to alert anyone within proximity of an emerging portal in hopes that they can evade it. So far the sensors have a limited range and have proven unstable even under lab conditions, but I think I've found the right balance of power and sensitivity and am building a new prototype now. Once complete, I'll be testing around the Lighthouse for ease of monitoring, and then distributing from there given appropriate circumstances and materials/ability to replicate. In the home stretch! One more month of studying and tests etc. I can't believe I'm almost done my self study. I didn't think I'd be finishing High School on my own, or to get ready to graduate without my parents seeing me. Though, honestly, I probably got more school work done here since there was less crime fighting (but with a side trip to Middle Earth). Summer's going to be great though, waiting and getting ready for college.

Apparently a week here was a month in portal time for us.

I found that one of the security cameras in the front entryway was malfunctioning. I'm going to go through and double-check each of the cameras in turn, and replace any parts that aren't working. I'm also going to be installing a few new cameras to cover a couple of blindspots that I've found.

Please let me know if you happen to see any of the security cameras without a dim, red light. Means the thing's not working. Or if the light is blinking, that's a bad sign. I'll come by and take a look.

It's a relief to know people are coming back. I can use that when comforting a 10-year-old smart enough to know people are missing.

With everything else going on, it seems a bit silly to complain about this epic case of deja vu I've had for the past week, but here we are.

If anyone has experienced anything odd or out of the ordinary and are concerned that it might be "red portal" related, please don't hesitate to stop by Medical as soon as possible. We'll do some tests and run the results by the science team to see if there might be any correlation.

These red portals are appearing more and more around the world. There are more than whispers about them now.

This holiday season has been pretty great. I miss my family back home, but this place certainly has its charms. And the friends I've made here have made a huge difference for me here.

Despite firmly knowing my daughter's age—which is five, by the way (she "celebrated" her birthday while we were jumping through time)—I have continued to order Sweet Sixteen decorations. All of a particular theme. It appears I can't get my "future flash" out of my head.

If anyone needs any tiaras or glittery feather boas that aren't already being used for play date dress-up time, I'll be happy let you take much of this off my hands.

Pumpkins are everywhere. They're impossible to avoid now.

On the other hand, I have made a series of apple flavored fall beverages and treats which are available in the month of October. Apple flavors blend wonderfully witn cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, caramel, and vanilla.

Daisy Johnson, the love of my life and only woman that would put up with me, has agreed to become my wife. At some point, in the future. One day. We don't have specific plans but wanted to share our engagement with all of our friends and colleagues here.

I seem to have slipped into the habit of watching movies when I can't sleep. There are a lot which were never made on my earth. Most of them in fact. I'm currently working my way through Hitchcock's filmography. Rear Window will be tonight if anyone wants to join, say eight o clock.

So, ah, trying to get my life more together. As long as I'm here, might as well, right? Not much better to do and believe me, wallowing in self-pity only gets you so far.

So, ah... I'm a photographer? And scienecy! So sciencey! Mostly biochem, little engineering. Never did quite finish that doctorate though... Oh! And I taught high school science for a while!

Well, the goddamn portal still works.

I'm working on it. Crunching the data. I haven't been able to find anything that might hint at where our people have been taken, and the Science Team has been crippled by so many people having gone missing.

I'll be living on coffee for the next... however long this takes.

So, is anyone else's social media blowing up about Tony disappearing on stage at a tech conference in Minsk? Is Zari slacking on telling all of us about this, or what?

It seems that the thorns have some kind of anesthetizing effect that we don't quite understand yet. One of our number, Jemma, was pricked by one and has been unconscious since the incident.

For those that know her, she is currently under observation and we are conducting tests to work out what's going on with her.

I've never seen Alya as elated as she was today when she came across a talking puppy on the way back from school. I don't think she knows yet that there are other talking animals...but let me know if anyone has a pet who'd like to play with an eager four-year-old. It might save us me us from having to get her one of her own....

I should be concerned that I don't find this whole thing nearly as strange as I should.

Okay, so I don't mean to alarm anyone—which is pretty much guaranteed to do just that (sorry)—and maybe this is something the people of this world already know or maybe its normal for here, but...

And let me preface this by saying that no, I don't know how, and I really don't know why...

This world is broken.

There's something missing, something that's making it broken.

I can feel it like an ache at the back of my jaw. Figured it was just the residual backlash from what happened to me right before I got here, but it's not that. I can sense when things want to be whole, and your Earth has been kicking off those vibes since I got here.

After everything that has gone on, I am not surprised that I've ended up here. Because why not?
