Happy Halloween. Not sure if I'm a Trick or a Treat, but you got me anyway.

Bucky Barnes, James to some. I've been told I was here before. I don't remember. I'm from 2023. We had a Snap, I was erased, came back, fought Thanos, worked with Cap, fixed a boat. Now I'm here.

I've been caught up watching the news almost all day. I'm not a stocks guy but that should make some people nervous about the future.

Also, I know some of you have seen me walking around in the black and red suit but my Cap suit came through the portal this morning. Not sure what that's supposed to mean but I'll probably be alternating suits for less laundry. I'm not trying to parade around as Captain America before anyone gets the wrong idea.

Speaking of the portal, I know security has been a shit show. It was headed down that path when I took charge. To everyone who's been helping and who have been working their asses off to keep an eye on it, thank you. I'm going to be doing some hiring over the next week so that we can get back to normal shifts. I'll make a post about that in the next day or two.

§ James tells me we are irresponsible and thoughtless for giving two days notice for a trip when we've worked through our family and friends disappearing and saved the actual world back home. Funny no one said that to the adults, some on portal security, who take off without a moment's notice. Funny how the "teens" in this establishment have been better behaved and more mature, but are the ones getting called out.

I've been working on the schedule and I'll have it posted soon. I don't know how it's gone before but I've made it so that there's always two people on duty at a time. There are a few people off-duty at the moment which means others are going to have to pick up the slack.

I believe in the power of partnership so if you prefer a certain person as your partner, I'm more than willing to try to accommodate that in the future but I can't promise shifts together all the time.

And before anyone asks, yes, I was put in charge of making the schedule.

Check up with the docs have confirmed that my ribs are better. Less tender and I'm off low-activity. Can't over-do it, still not allowed to take any hits to the torso, but it's the right direction. And the MRI is clear. Means I'm back on the schedule and it's about time.

Today really stinks. It's one of those times I miss just being able to hop a jet to Belgium. Museums and chocolates and possibly a decent caper.

For those who don't know me, I'm James Barnes. Tony Stark put me in charge of portal security, so I know a lot of you already.

Stark is talking about doing another portal test in the coming weeks. Something safe. He is going to do a drill before he does it, and that means we will be evacuating the facility as if there were a crisis. Don't worry, there will be plenty of warnings first.

I'll let everyone knows when it's coming up and the day of. There will be further instructions for what to do, too.

The Portal Security team also has a training session tomorrow where we'll be going through some stuff. We have two more spots available if anyone is interested and can commit full-time. It would really be nice not to have to pull 12-hour shifts.

So, it's come to my attention that there are people who think we are holding something back after the last visit. I get it. It's a lot. There's a lot going on.

I think Sam did a pretty good job summarizing it, but since there are some newcomers here that don't feel they know everything and don't know how to use Google or just ask me or anyone else, here. This is an entire history of the Avengers, what we know about the Power Stones, Thanos, and everything in between. It also explains the Sokovian Accords.

We've done this before. Several times. I've had meetings weeks ago about this, and I just don't have time to keep sitting everyone down and giving the rundown for this place. So it's now up to you. Read the attached files and please make yourself acquainted.

And if anyone wants to take over, by all means. Do it. I'm really, REALLY tired of trying to save people and I'm okay with retiring. You can have it all: the facility, the responsibility, all of it. Hell, you can deal with the president the next time she comes to town. And you can deal with the portals, too.

I know that Thor and Loki have already started to build a fleet in Asgard. What I need is a group of people that are comfortable enough to man and maintain a ship for deeper space missions.
