Strange how it feels as though a switch is flipped in mid-September, and pumpkin spice and Halloween hit the shops like a fire hose.

At least there are good movies this time of year.

I've received another report of a recent disappearance, but one that wasn't corroborated until today. Some SI employees saw a couple get pulled into a red portal in the diner down the road a few miles on Friday. The Stark Industries' security team couldn't get the CCTV pulled until today and confirmed it was Frank Castle and Karen Page.

Tony suggested we activate the GPS tracker embedded in all our data pads. Since this is the first I've ever heard about anything like this existing on our devices, I wanted to turn that decision over to those who might be interested in having it turned on. I can send you the directions to do so. Tony also told me that he has a backdoor update that can completely delete the program and frag the hardware, if you feel this is too invasive.

In the spirit of full transparency, I'm still debating what I want to do.

I arrived here on December 27 last year. So tomorrow marks my one year anniversary. What does a person do for the one year anniversary of their arrival to this place?

I'm thinking a little celebration with drinks, cake, and friends.

In carrying on the tradition started last year, a certain little elf has decided to leave a little box of goodies at everyone's doorstep today. No need to fret, this time we know who's behind it, and I can assure you, there's nothing portal-related about these cookies. I’m a Doctor, not a Dentist.

If anyone loses teeth playing on ice you’ll have to take a trip into town to fix them.

Despite firmly knowing my daughter's age—which is five, by the way (she "celebrated" her birthday while we were jumping through time)—I have continued to order Sweet Sixteen decorations. All of a particular theme. It appears I can't get my "future flash" out of my head.

If anyone needs any tiaras or glittery feather boas that aren't already being used for play date dress-up time, I'll be happy let you take much of this off my hands.

Nothing will prepare you for the joy of a child reunited with her toys. I imagine it's secondary to her inevitable reunion with her best friend, and thirdly to her parents' relief at finally being back.

So, at the risk of having someone lob something at me, what did I miss?

Flu shots have been ordered for the middle of the month. Anyone without enhanced healing, metabolism or resilience should come get one.

The med bay is busier than it has been in a while. While on the one hand it's good we're not standing idle, but on the other it means the portal’s sending people directly into harm's way.

If we get many more inpatients we'll have to restrict visitor numbers.

My bad. That was me. I had a rather...kinetic re-entry from my brief trip to Sokovia circa 2015. Reading other posts, I gather that it happened to quite a few of us. More portal bullshit shenanigans, I guess.

Anyhow, I was gone but now I'm back. I got to participated in the Battle of Sokovia.

One of them, anyway. This being a multiverse I guess there's an infinite number of Battles of Sokovia in every possible flavor, and an infinite subset of them of where I was somehow present. Oh, wow, and an infinite number of them where I got killed, too, I guess.

I need a drink.

That was three hours of my life I'll never get back.

I really missed space.

This is nice.

First sunburn of the summer. Ow.

Makes wearing a shirt for work really uncomfortable.

So I get the feeling we all need a distraction. Maybe to stop from worrying about our space cadets, or maybe to hit pause on freaking out about all the inadvertent time escapades. Or just take a break from the lab/computer/bureaucracy we’re entrenched in.

The weather’s decent and the beach is right there at New Asgard. I’m thinking a friendly volleyball tourney. Kenny Loggins soundtrack optional but strongly encouraged.

I have several flavors of cupcakes to try, and am looking for taste testers.
