Look who I found sitting on the end of the bed when I came back to the cabin after supper.

For those of you that haven't met, his name is Crookshanks and he is likely to be curious and wander about the train. He's very friendly and very clever.

Isn't he handsome? I suppose it's a coincidence that he turned up today, his timing couldn't be better. But he's a wonderful birthday present all the same.

I've heard you and a few others are going to stay behind. I think I've got to - really can't go on assuming I'll be sent home before that utter bastard of a train throws something truly horrible our way, if ever. This could be the closest to normal we see again for some time. I've got to think of Eve.

I know we've not really properly met, but would you mind helping us out of the city for now?

I'm staying. There's no reason to go back to the train now.

I'm staying. In Shanghai. I figure it's the best thing all around, and you all can go back to thinkng I'm dead. There are supplies in my room, there should be plenty to hold you over for a while.

Now the train thinks it's a bird? Not sure which is crazier the flying or the swimming though I think both make the list of crazy.
