My wardrobe has recovered from the disaster earlier in the week, I'm happy to say. I was never much of a hunter, and tweeds inspire memories of people I've no desire to see in Atlantis.

I got to admit, staying around is pretty tempting with all the old friendly faces, and all the new friendly faces. The funny thing is, it was New Year's Eve before I left home. We really go back to that same moment?

Cause I've got a girl who'll hopefully be waiting for me at midnight 1949, and I'd hate to disappoint her.

Hi Atlantis. I have to say spending the new year on a mythical island wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but it beats being on call at the hospital. I'm Elena, for those who don't know me already, and I'll be working in medical once I get settled.

So, let's see, I've already seen my best friends, my dead ex-boyfriend, and my sort of husband. Anyone else here I know?

I've gotta give this place credit, I haven't come as close to applying to stay as I did last night. Someone should've warned me shower sex was so dangerous, I would've tried it much sooner.

Addy and I came up with a bucket list of things we'd like to do before we go back, and if anyone would like to help, this is my part of the list and I accept all offers of help or friends to join me:

Body shots and/or body paint.

Learn how to knit.

Learn pottery

Making homemade slime.

Makeup. Teach me how to makeup, please - specifically eyeliner.

I also need company for a mani/pedi.

Learn how to salsa or tango.

Legos. Legoes? I need lego building buddies.

This year I heard the song "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" and I'm not sure why anyone would want a hippopotamus, but I did get a rhinoceros for christmas, so I cannot be too critical. Regardless, W'kabi and I are very happy that our four footed member of our family has joined us.

Even in this crazy snow, I managed to ride a Pegasus today. Atlantis magic (???) or whatever it is lightened up the snowfall while I was riding.

I'm guessing they're not on the list of adoptable pets here, are they?

I've been to most all of them, but I want to hear a local's perspective. Or someone more local than me. Best bar in town and why: Go.

By the way, I own a restaurant and bar in Haven and am biased, so these best be good reasons.

I'm gonna build a snowman or ten. Anyone else want to join?

I tried clearing myself a path on the sidewalk today by melting the snow and heating the ground, but apparently that only lasts ten seconds before the ground gets covered all over again. It's a good thing I have a decent sense of direction; not even breadcrumbs would get me back home in this weather.

Atlantis, you sure know how to celebrate a holiday.

So, what does this place do for New Year's?

My wonderful family managed to find me a working, well-tuned piano for Christmas, which I've so enjoyed over the last day or so. Are there other musicians here who would come play with me? Music is, perhaps unsurprisingly, a bit of a rare commodity in my timeline, and it's one of the bits of 'creativity' that I'd like to explore while I have the chance.

I have to admit that I've always enjoyed the snow. The stillness of it all, and how sound can be completely absorbed by it. Even blizzards are nice simply for the cover it provides. But there's also the whole aspect of being safe inside, cuddled under a blanket with something warm to drink. I don't think I ever really appreciated the latter back home. Snow was always more practical for me than anything else.

Can I ask you something that might be kind of ... I don’t know. Something you might not have an answer for, I guess, but I need to just say anyway so I have a chance to stop thinking about it? I thought about asking someone else their opinion, but then I didn’t want it getting around and either of you thinking I don’t want to confide in you, because you’re always the first people I call. And I didn’t want to ruin Christmas with my stupid crises, so now I’ll just ruin a regular day. ... God, I’m a mess. Okay. The life we had, the one I had. That’s real, right?
