So, our beloved Edmund the Just finishes a quarter of a century tomorrow and I thought we should make the occasion. Rather than subject you all to my cooking, which still needs some work, I figured we could take over a section of one of the restaurants Old White Lion at 7 for dinner and some celebrations. I'm not a fan of compulsion of any kind, but I have noticed the cases I try run much more smoothly when all parties are entirely truthful.

Sooooo after talking to Reyna about learning to change diapers, I went out and got some dolls for everyone to practice on. Fastest one gets ... the title of best aunt/uncle? First dibs on babysitting? I don’t know - I’ll leave the prize up to Edmund and Reyna to decide. I just thought it’d be fun for everyone to get to do this together.

Is anyone offering baby training classes? For parents, I mean. Not babies. As it gets closer, I'm realizing just how clueless I am about what to do with an infant. Sadly, Bellona's gift does not extend to taking care of babies and the books I've read are almost too much information... and I'm not sure I know how to change a diaper yet.

Have definitely gotten too the point where my tshirts wont fit anymore. Which of course means I've just started borrowing Ed's shirts. Which means I might actually have to partake in my least favorite activity - clothes shopping.

After the blatant hinting, it only seems appropriate to go out for ice cream sodas. Friends and teammates are welcome.

It's strange, how you can know you have a child (or more than one), have seen her grown up and as an amazing woman , and yet being pregnant just feels like this vague hypothetical situation... until your body starts to change and the baby starts to move. I suppose it's no surprise that she likes to move a lot, but it is one of the strangest feelings I've ever known.

Which is to say, knowing your future is very strange.

Since all the "dead" are showing up in Atlantis unharmed... do we know what's going to happen to the "winner"?

Which is too say, Ed and I found out this morning that we're expecting a baby. Seems a bit too good to be true, but it's proobably the best birthday present I could ask for.

All these craft activities make me feel like I'm visiting Camp Half-Blood again.

Which isn't a bad thing, but we certainly have some unique new decorations for our place.
