With all the puppies running around yesterday, I'm surprised Lauren didn't try to talk us into another dog. Thankfully she seems to be happy with a little sister. She's a great big sister, she's very protective of her and I found her sitting on the floor next to her bed reading to her. Emily was sound asleep and Lauren was proud of herself but I didn't have the heart to tell her that Emiily as already asleep when she started.

I am placing notice in support of Lieutenant Commander Kirk's resolution to "fuck work" today. A long weekend upon the beach sounds rather relaxing and that is where I will be until our Quidditch match this weekend, should any require my assistance. I would prefer that assistance being something fun or relaxing, should there be any choice in the matter.

Should anyone wish to help with a fire, perhaps we can roast meat to share.

I feel a little bit like I was asking for something like this to happen by "retiring" from superheroics (can you ever really retire from that???) - like the universe is laughing at me, all you thought you were done? SURPRISE. But I guess if the multiverse has to surprise me like this, at least it also brought my fiancé here AND this is a place we've never been before. Atlantis is so cool.



Oh, right. I'm Teddy. I would've said hi earlier but I missed Valentine's Day and had to make it up to Billy. 😏 (Billy Kaplan, he is the previously mentioned fiancé. I really like that word.) What else am I supposed to say? I like Pokémon and A Song of Ice and Fire, I'm a weird alien hybrid and my families hate each other I grew up in New York City, and since we're staying, I guess I'm going to get a Real Job (!!!) and actually have time to learn how to cook more. Watch out, world.

My first mission, commentating on a quidditch match - February has been a month of adventures and I am definitely a fan!

Report to base for briefing, bring your gear and hug your loved ones. I do not know how long we will be gone, but consider it wise to expect at least a week from past mission knowledge. Details will be provided upon arrival and I have doughnuts.

My team has been selected for a mission, likely some of you have gotten the call as well. For those I'll soon see at the base for briefing, good luck with your part of the mission! For those remaining behind, you have my adoration and we will see you again soon! With luck, we will hopefully have more opportunities to make them pay for abducting our allies.

I'm looking for volunteers for research regarding the testing of and implementation of a restorative serum from my world that will affect my powers. My job is to try to utilize my powers (pain, and removal of) on you while under various doses of said serum. Your job is to give me a quantifiable number describing the sensation and/or lack thereof.

Before we get started, I'll need to run a few tests to get an idea of your pain tolerance and sensitivity. At no point will I produce any amount of pain in you more intense than a persistent headache (around 3-4 on the pain scale out of 10), and the pain will dissipate as soon as you quantify it. Likewise, all numbness I produce in you will be temporary. I understand that this will be uncomfortable, but it's for a good cause, and all you people are heroes and should eat up good deeds like catnip.

No one under the age of 21. No one with active reoccurring pain such as a badly-healed injury or arthritis. I won't pay you, but I might spring for doughnuts. Please leave me a comment here with questions or to volunteer. I have one open spot (Leonardo da Vinci, Penny Adiyodi, Evie Frye).

Are you going to be in Atlantis during the next few weeks? Another incident is brewing. Let's not have mistletoe waiting for my return to consciousness this time.

Guess what I found! It's almost as good as a dragon. In ten days time, we will be enjoying a holiday here in Atlantis! For those of you who, like me, aren't familiar with many holidays, it is a day dedicated to the power of love, and it's called Valentines Day. Or... Valentine's Day. I'm honestly not sure. I did some research on it, and it appears as if Valentine was some sort of holy man in his day, but honestly all that bit was a lot of reading and I got bored so you'll have to look up the rest of that if you'd like some history because I definitely didn't stick with it. But the holiday dedicated to St. Valentine is wonderful! It's a celebration of love, which I think is so essential. In dark and uncertain times, there's nothing quite so reassuring as knowing that there's someone or someones out there waiting for you to get home, is there?

From what I can tell, the main colours of this holiday are pink and red. There are lots of images of lovers gazing into another's eyes, beautiful small paper artworks with embroidered lace, and somewhat bafflingly, what appear to be winged babies wearing poorly-constructed diapers shooting people. I'm not sure what that's about. Perhaps it's to remind us that life is fleeting and that we should love while we have the opportunity before babies kill us with tiny arrows? I've also discovered through the research that wasn't historical and dull that people are supposed to give one another chocolates or cinnamon candies on Valentines Day, love letters, roses (or other flowers), and send anonymous letters of love to their crushes. So if you're single, this is still a holiday that you can benefit from!

I'm very excited about Valentines Day. It seems optimistic and fun and lighthearted, and with the days being so short and spring seemingly so far away, I could use the distraction.

While my son is off having a strange adventure as a rodent, I thought I should introduce myself. I am Faye. I am very grateful to you all for being so welcoming to Atreus and Kratos. My husband may grumble, but he needs a friendly helping hand from time to time and he won't make you regret it. Unless you deserve to regret it, that is.

I hope to repay your kindness with strong wards for your base security and the use of my axe when needed, but please let me know if there are other ways I can be of assistance here.

Hidden lands and ancient legends! This is my kind of knock in the head! Surely it bruises my ego a bit to know that there are places that even I don't know about - although I did know of a tale of a beautiful woman rising from the sea form to beckon one to a maze of marble palaces buried under the waters, palaces that once formed the skyline of a vast and unknowable continent. Although, pity - she only appears to those about to drown.

Either way - I can't drown! Know that now. I'm Mimir, a fellow traveler with the big fellow and the brave lad. They'll be employing me in with the library sorts, looks like - I'll be imparting my knowledge to the wee next generation. Oh, and don't let my appearance concern you - all's well.
