So, how's it feel to be a year closer to 7?

Given the unique realities of life in Atlantis - particularly the events of last month - those of us in mental health have decided it might be useful to have more people on staff in mental health - some part time as well as on-call folks who we can call on in case of emergency. To that effect, we'll be introducing a mental health training program next month - working around people's schedule. If you're interested, comment on this post. If you have questions, feel free to ask me or Sam or Claire. Anyone of us would be happy to talk to you about what we do.

My sympathies go out to all those who have lost someone recently or who are worried about loved ones who have been kidnapped or are in comas. We've extended our open hours in counseling, so if you need to talk to someone, or just need someone to sit with you, please don't hesitate to reach out to Claire or myself. We'll be making round as well.



I'm sure many of us will miss Chirrut's calming presence. Chairman Meow and I will be taking over his meditation classes. They brought me much comfort in the uncertainty of this place and I hope they might do the same for others. I assure you, I am not nearly as strict an instructor as Chairman Meow.

There is a lot going on.

As already mentioned, check on your friends and family and if you need anyone to talk to my door is always open.

Hey Atlantis! Name's Kaylee and I just got here. They said Shepherd Book was comin' to pick me up so I thought I'd say hi while I waited.

Didn't expect to see all this snow! Don't remember ever seein' this much before.

I can't say I haven't been in a communal bath before. How else to ensure that young acolytes actually wash instead of wasting water other than to have a communal bathing room? (Not to mention a bored senior standing outside, occasionally banging on the door to hurry us all up.) But today was the first time I've done that in a long time. Rest assured though, everyone who was there with me, your modesty was safe with me!

December has certainly been an adventure so far in Atlantis.

I wonder at the purpose of Atlantis throwing many of us in a bathtub today. (Though I am exceedingly grateful to have been wearing a swimsuit.


Although, after the lesson the other day, I think I can make a reasonable fritter. Speaking of, how is your arm, Bonnie? Fully healed by now, I hope?

I suppose after years of living on a desert planet, the snow and cold are still novel for me. Though I will say that hot tea makes it much more bearable, as does the french toast special at snoozle this past week. Sometimes I worry it would be too easy to slide into gluttony here in Atlantis.

Ha! And to think Baze used to say I was a menace in the kitchen and I would burn water if left alone! I've proven him wrong. I made a perfect little Indian pudding the other day in that cooking class and I've made it again three times since. It's very delicious.

Hmm, the internet tells me of this things called an omelet. It's just eggs. How hard could it really be to make it? After all, this text to voice program is very good. Better even than the one I had at home.

I suppose I am glad I am not alone in the wardrobe malfunction that seems to be caused by Atlantis. These clothes are a far cry from what I wore at the monastery, but clothes are clothes, I suppose.

Although it is ... familiar to be back in Atlantis, there is a part of me that will miss the farm in Breck.

The closest I've ever gotten to prayer before was meditating with Kai.

I'm not sure what caused the uptick in sales the other week, but it was wonderful to see so many new people in the shop and to hear about them reading voraciously. If you're ever in need of book recommendations, I'm happy to suggest something.

Or you could just drop by to pet Chairman Meow.

Yesterday was probably the first time I've ever worn a bikini and I don't think I'll be repeating that anytime soon. No, there are not pictures.

I tried the apple turnovers at Snoozle today. The smell of them was delightful and they're apparently on special. I still don't know what an apple is beyond being some form of fruit but I can say that they are very delicious when wrapped in pastry. It's been a long time since I was able to indulge in something sweet so today has been very enjoyable.

I've never fancied myself a gardener before today, but I found it oddly relaxing, unlike truth or dare last week. That was a little too apt. Could anyone use some extra vegetables? I've enough for more than a week of salads. Perhaps I ought to make some stew this weekend.

I don't know if either of you I believe the month is off to a good start over all.

It seems Atlantis is on a bit of an environmental kick. Yesterday, I had several people emphatically tell me how to protect the environment and today there are many people furiously gardening. In terms of Atlantis' idiosyncrasies, this is not the worst one to experience.. however, punching me will rarely convince me of your argument (even if I agree with you).
