Aleksandra Belikova + Roman Lockehart
LOW | COMPLETE
Aleksadra was finishing her rounds when she got a message on her device. She had to read it a couple of times just to make sure she was reading it correctly. Roman Lockehart. Her Roman Lockehart was there. In Atlantis. She let out a happy squeal and started to run to the hospital door before she realized she still needed to finish her round. She finished in a record time and rushed to the door to pick Roman up from Intake.
When she caught a glimpse of her Guardian outside Intake, she ran towards him yelling his name, ready to give him the biggest hug ever known to the world. “You’re here!”
Roman had no idea how this had happened, he’d been in bed and started to feel strange and then he woke up here. Which was apparently Atlantis. The arrivals area was crowded but it didn’t take long for someone to find him, get his name and tell him that Alex would be coming to meet him. Alex was here? He couldn’t help but smile because that would make things much easier but it didn’t explain why she was still at home either. He’d ask her when he saw her.
He found a place where he thought he’d be easy to spot and started watching the door. He saw her as soon as she walked in and met her halfway, wrapping his arms around her. “Hey! This is nuts! I saw you an hour ago and you’re here and so I am so what is this?”
She wrapped her arms around him tightly and held him for it felt like an eternity before letting him go. He was there. He was really there. After Atlantis took Danny away, she was pretty pissed at the place, but this was making it up for it.
“This place is crazy, that’s the first thing you need to know,” she said with a smile she couldn’t -- nor wanted -- to shake away. “It’s Atlantis. It’s in this weird time in space where they take you from a point in your timeline but you’re never really gone there... Does that make sense?” If felt like it didn’t make much sense, but Atlantis was a difficult thing to explain. “But you’re here and that’s all it matters!”
“That is weird but considering the society we live in, we should be used to it,” he laughed and then hugged her again. If they’d been at home, he wouldn’t have been so easy with his affection since technically he was her protector but here, he could be her friend and no one could say anything. “So show me around,” he said when he let her go. “They said there was a hotel where we had rooms already so I guess we could go there first? It’s not like I have luggage or anything so whatever you think.”
She laughed with him and hugged him back again, squeezing him tightly. She was so happy he was there and was going to spend Christmas with her and her family. “We can go to the hotel first,” she nodded. “And then I’ll show you where I live and everything else. This place has everything you could imagine and more,” she said. She grabbed him by the arm and pulled him lightly so they could both start walking towards the hotel.
“Your mom seemed a little skeptical about me on the network,” he said. “I get that she doesn’t know me yet but I hope she’s not planning to ambush me and see how I react.” Roman knew Rose well enough to know that she might very well do that so he was trying to stay on guard. “Maybe your dad can talk her out of it. Unless he wants to ambush me too.” Roman laughed. “I can’t believe I’m here, this is just….really cool.”
She rolled her eyes at the mention of her mom’s reaction. “I’ll make sure my mom doesn’t ambush you or anything like that,” she said. “Or my dad,” she added with a chuckle. She was pretty sure her dad was harmless, but her mom... She’d need to have a talk with her. “I know!” she exclaimed. “Oh! I have a little brother here, Ivan. You’re gonna love him. He’s the cutest little thing.”
Roman stopped in his tracks. “You have a brother? How? Did they adopt him here?” He knew the biology of dhampirs and that they couldn’t conceive a child with each other so that was the only explanation he could think of. Ivan must be adopted like Alex and Tai were. “How old is he?”
Alex stopped and scratched her head. “To be honest I’m not sure,” she said with a small laugh once she realized she had never asked her parents that. “I never asked my mom or dad. “He’s two, and so freaking adorable.” She took his hand to make him walk. “Come on, I want to show you everything.”
“That sounds like a great idea,” he said. “Lead the way!”
