Save Atlantis RPG

I can only assume this is an Atlantis thing, but I woke up this morning with an urge to infuse vodka. I've got about half a dozen bottles now with a variety of fruits, so I think we might just have to have some kind of party in a few days, because I definitely can't drink all of this vodka without some help.

Somehow, I also suspect I'm not the only one doing this.

I know it's hard to focus on the positive right now right after the war, but I think it'll be good for Atlantis to see that we have a future.

Is it customary for the devices to just change shape?

My finger nearly got caught when it changed earlier.

PLOT: ♆ - All devices turn into rotary style phone for an hour today (up to you when it happens).

It shouldn't be surprising that rugs end up with a mind of their own. But I would love to be able to get to and from my office without being tripped!

I'd roll them up but I have a feeling that might cause a fight.

PLOT: ♆ - What the heck is under the rugs? Good question! All rugs in Atlantis are lumpy and uncomfortable to walk on. They also seem to want to trip everyone.

Dear Matt,

It's true, I suppose, that writing can really help get stuff off your chest, but I was never particularly good with words, or at least I didn't think I was. To be honest I'm not much for self reflection; or I wasn't until I got here. I guess all this cosmic "stuff" has a way to make you think. And now I am a fan of writing it out. Not to people, necessarily, but I might just grab a diary or something.

This feels new to me too, you don't read like anybody I know. And I've never had an anonymous penpal! I like it.

You're not wrong in that I've met people here I wouldn't have otherwise. In a way I've had a lot more excitement here than I was ever likely to back home and considering my previous situation that's saying quite a bit. I suppose I should look on the bright side, I always do anyway. But that day I wrote you, it had only just happened. And I was on that arena thingy, which left me out of sorts for days. I'm a little more cheerful a week later, I'll tell you that much.

I do love music! I don't know that I have a favourite genre just because I like so much from so many different ones, you know? I've been catching up on Earth music from all the years I hadn't lived yet, actually. Why, are you a musician?

Dear Maureen,

I've always found writing to be a cathartic exercise or, at the very least, a good way to sort through my thoughts. When you add it to the chance to potentially meet someone new - unless you're one of those I've met already, but this has a new feeling, anyway, thanks to the anonymity of it - I'm glad for the chance to participate in this, compulsory or not.

I'm sorry to read that you seem to be having a hard time in Atlantis. I do feel I have a good support system, as well as the opportunity to know people I wouldn't have gotten to know at home. Sometimes bad things happen, but I think that's true for any place, and for me, at least, the good has outweighed the bad. That's something I am grateful for.

I'll close with a question: Do you like music? If you do, what is your favorite genre?

I've been in Atlantis for a week now and after some careful consideration, I've decided to stay. I'm curious about the work being done here and I'm excited to be a part of Intake. Those of you that work in the position, I'd love to get together.

It goes without saying that this isn't an easy time for any of us. Many of us have loved ones who were in the arena or still are. There are several of you who survived it, but that doesn't lessen your experiences. If any of you, whether you were in there or not, need someone to talk to, we are here. It doesn't even have to be an official talk - we can meet for coffee and talk about your experiences or anything else you want. No matter how it might seem otherwise, you are not alone. We are all in this together. And together is the only way we're all going to get through this.

Peter Burke, here, Lead Detective, Atlantis PD. I know everyone is upset. For the sake of keeping people safe, I'm going to ask the hard thing which is that no one panic. Also, unless you've been assigned a job elsewhere, everyone try to stay in place. It will be harder with people running everywhere.

If you have small children, you may have noticed Miss Darling's offer of the daycare to distract them from the games. That's a good option. My son attends, and I can vouch for her.

I'll be deputizing a limited number of volunteers to assist the police department during this situation.

Captain Becker has asked us to do a headcount of who is still in Atlantis. Can we get a list of who we should have and where?

I don't need to tell any of you the kind of panic this could cause. I need everyone to keep it together. If you feel like you might lose it, take a breath and come to me before anything else. We've been tasked with getting an actual headcount of Atlantis citizens. For all we know COS could have the folks on the screen in some kind of virtual reality room somewhere. We'll be getting some extra help for the task, and I want everyone in pairs, at minimum. We've got a lot of ground to cover.
