letter to steven connor (dimitri belikov)

Dear Steven,

I'm sorry I haven't written in so long. Life got a little crazy, which I guess is the usual here in Atlantis. I wish I could tell you about it, but you know were not supposed to give out information about us -- which if you ask me is a little stupid.

I've never owned a dog either, but seeing all those people getting new puppies and dogs a little while ago made me want to get one. Maybe I do.

I hope you had a good week and have some fun things planned for the weekend!

Sincerely,
Fairydust Jones.

Dear Fairydust,

I hope this finds you well. I haven't done anything very exciting in the last few days but that is not necessarily a bad thing given some of the things that Atlantis likes to throw at us. Mostly I have been trying not to let all the barking bother me. I don't suppose it's giving away too much information to say that I have never owned a dog so I'm not used to the noise. If I did own a dog, it would only be one which would not be as loud.

Have a good day and I hope you have a pleasant weekend.

Sincerely,
Steven

Dear Matt,
It's true, I suppose, that writing can really help get stuff off your chest, but I was never particularly good with words, or at least I didn't think I was. To be honest I'm not much for self reflection; or I wasn't until I got here. I guess all this cosmic "stuff" has a way to make you think. And now I am a fan of writing it out. Not to people, necessarily, but I might just grab a diary or something.

This feels new to me too, you don't read like anybody I know. And I've never had an anonymous penpal! I like it.

You're not wrong in that I've met people here I wouldn't have otherwise. In a way I've had a lot more excitement here than I was ever likely to back home and considering my previous situation that's saying quite a bit. I suppose I should look on the bright side, I always do anyway. But that day I wrote you, it had only just happened. And I was on that arena thingy, which left me out of sorts for days. I'm a little more cheerful a week later, I'll tell you that much.

I do love music! I don't know that I have a favourite genre just because I like so much from so many different ones, you know? I've been catching up on Earth music from all the years I hadn't lived yet, actually. Why, are you a musician?
Best,
Maureen Wilson

PS: They gave me my mother's maiden name, I think I may have an auntie with my very name. It's funny.
PPS: I did remain remarkably coherent then? Good to know. I don't drink much so I suppose it's genes!

Alice,
I don't mind it at all! I know what you mean about screens, it's nice but being able to write is equally nice.

That was amazing, wasn't it? I don't think anyone would blame you for being excited about free ice cream.

I'll go ahead and answer both. I think what I love most about this place is the mystery. There's still so much about this place that we don't know. I think my least favourite thing about Atlantis is probably alongside everyone else. The fact that we can't communicate with our loved ones back home. There are people I miss a lot and it still hurts to be without them.

Back to the topic of ice cream. What's your favourite flavour?

June 3 | Letter to Maud Bond (Julie Power)

[info]saveatlantisic
Dear Maud,

Whenever I think of having a pen pal, I imagine being paired with someone halfway across the county or on the other side of the world. When I was in grade school, my third grade teacher had us paired up with our own pen pals in England, and we wrote to them a few times during the school year. This is a little more strange! Since you could be anyone. We could be roommates, co-workers, friends, or we may have never spoken at all since we've been here. I love it.

It's a little hard to know what to write when we're not supposed to write specific details about our lives, but I'm really looking forward to getting to know you even if I won't know you specifically.

We've hard a hard month, so the good can be hard to focus one but do you have any favorite parts or moments of Atlantis? Some of my favorite days are ones when it's warm like today when I'm able to spend an afternoon down at the beach with my dog as she has a ball splashing all around. I hope that's not too revealing, but I figure there are so many people here with animals that it would still be hard to narrow down!

Anyway, I hope this finds you having a great day, and I look forward to hearing from you.

- Felicity

Dear Steven,

First of all, thank you for the letter and your kind words about my name. I have to admit for a fake name is quite creative! I'm not sure what to say, as we're not supposed to say anything that gives away who we are. So I guess I can ask you how was your day? Have you tried anything new today?

I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Fairydust Jones

Sparrow -
I hope you don't mind that I address you by your last name, it is by far the best of your two names that I currently know!

I haven't had a pen pal in ages! I remember it being loads of fun, sending letters from across the world, or in this case across Atlantis. How do you like it here? I love it, I know we are fighting a war, and horrific things happen, but there is so much here that keeps you on your toes, and there is always something new to do or learn.

The food! Have I mentioned all the different kinds of foods and drinks, yup, I might really enjoy the fun side of Atlantis.

Anyways, all the best!

Hello,

I know this might seem crazy but I found stationary in my room this morning and instructions to write you a letter. So this would be the letter. I'm not sure
what I'm suppose to say other than hello and you'll be hearing from me again. I know Fairydust Jones isn't your real name but I like it, it's pretty. Well I hope that
have a nice day.

Sincerely,
Steven Connor

Letter to Fred Bogtrotter (Loki Odinson)

Mr. Bogtrotter,

I imagine that as a resident of Atlantis you are accustomed to its oddities inasmuch as it is possible for anyone not newly arrived to be. (If you are a new arrival, then I apologize for any consternation you may currently feel. One does adjust over time, at least to a degree.) Waking to a pile of stationary and a compulsion to write under a pseudonym is one of the more harmless manifestations of overflowing creativity. I find it mor charming then some, but the battle to be fought here is, I believe, worth most of the inconveniences. It is a pleasure to meet you.

Sincerely,

Harriet Jolie
