I guess we're doing the random dates with a random someone thing again. Okay, cool. I'm sure that wasn't at all awkward for anyone, right? Right.

I know some people are planning to leave and some are planning to stay and I'm sure there will be some good Atlantis-sponsored big hurrahs, but I was thinking a bonfire on the beach could be a lot of fun. You know, s'mores and snacks and drinks whatever. Just like a really chill and fun night. Who's in?

I feel like we've both been so busy with all the rebuilding and other things going on and I'm missing our bonding time. Maybe we could do something, just the two of us?

Pegasus riding? The zoo? Go for a hike?

We won. It came at an incalculable cost, but our world(s) (no matter when) is safe.

[TVD / TO / LEGACIES-VERSE]

One thing I've enjoyed about my time in Atlantis - I've been able to solve problems, sometimes multiple ones per day. The thing about mechanics is that most things want to be fixed; they want to run smoothly and do the job they were made to do. I won't call it simple but it lacks the complexity that so many of us face back in Mystic Falls and New Orleans. It lacks the complexity that the COS brings us here.

It allows me to feel like I belong. It allows me the breadth of affection and good humor. But more than that, all of you allow it. So, I wanted to say thank you. If you're free tonight, let's get together. A simple dinner with no schemes, no motives, nothing about the COS or what's happening in our other lives. Let's just be together.

P.S. Thanks for dealing with me when I was high.

Best advice I can give to the non-yo-yoers? Carry a swiss army knife.

I left early this morning and I usually think to check the weather, but got to walk home in the rain. Usually I get a little worried about my shoes (a stupidly adult worry) but today, I decided to walk home nice and slow.

It was a warm, easy rain and I'll get another pair of shoes.

It's funny how taste can trigger memories. Last night I went out for tacos but ended up having fried catfish instead and I swear it took me back to one of my early missions in the south when May and I were still fresh out of the academy and we'd been following this guy for days and were ravenous and there was this shack in the middle of nowhere, Louisiana... turned out to be part of a crime ring we took down, but they had some of the best damned catfish I've ever had. Deep fried and buttery. That was also the first time I ate crawfish..


So, what's a taste that's particularly memorable to you and why?

This is cold comfort; I miss Liv and I'm not at all happy she was sent back. We haven't had a loss in quite a while and I just wanted you to know if you need someone to talk to, I'll listen.

Important information about sunscreen, as we go into summer, please remember to put on sunscreen!

• Go for a "broad spectrum" sunscreen, it should be on the label. Like everything not EVERYTHING is created equally, so make sure you get the best you can!
  
• Do not go for the SPFs 2-4, it's crap and it will not protect you.
  
• If you are outside for more than 2 hours, REAPPLY! It's really important to reapply for your skins health!
  
• Don't be dumb and use sunscreen to create body art, that's just not the way to go!
  
• Did you know that most people ONLY apply 25-50% the recommended amount of sunscreen, so don't be shy about putting what feels like a lot on! If you need a buddy to help, grab one.
  
• Yes, I know I said as we get into summer, but we really should be wearing sunscreen every single day, no matter what the weather!
  
• Don't forget the tops of your feet and your ears!
  

Now, go out, have fun, and make sure to put on your sunscreen!

I know better than to ask if you're okay since you're always okay. I just wanted to reach out because we know the danger of our world. It seems to follow hard on Klaus' heels and I don't want to pass judgment until we see how he behaves when he pipes up on the network. But I'd rather reach out than be silent.

I'm still growing vervain in the kitchen.

I'm sure there are many questions regarding what happened to me in the past few weeks and I thought it would be a good idea to address them here so that we can all get back to work. If you have any questions or concerns about me or my condition, please feel free to let me know. I will answer any question as honestly as I can.

While the vampires - the Strigoi - were loose in Atlantis, I was attacked. To my best understanding, their condition reacted with my unique internal conditions and nullified the Cure that was in my blood. Because of course, I had been rendered a vampire in 1864. I had spent several decades in that condition. Instead of becoming human and catching up with my advanced years, I was relegated back to the last time I was a Vampire.

One of the things about my own vampirism is that to not have to deal with the horrible impact of lives taken, I can choose to ignore those very important parts of my humanity. I did then and that's what I came back to. To anyone I injured or offended, I would like to apologize. I don't know how I could ever make amends and I only hope you allow me the chance to do so. The thing about humanity is that you feel it a I happily and gladly choose to keep my humanity. You won't have to worry about that again.

Let me add to your list, all you fearful darlings. Some of us can walk in daylight too. We don't have to wait for night to fall ... we don't even sparkle and can get a really nice tan. Some of us are terribly thirsty.

I keep saying some of us don't I? Ha. I mean me.
