As you probably all already know, I take took a heavy hit. On behalf of Becker, I'm asking for all hands on deck right now. If you have any experience, skill, or knowledge with technology or world jumping or alternate universe to lend their skills to rebuilding and repairing intake. Any help is appreciated.

This is Michael Burnham. I am attempting communication to the citizens of this island as a means to familiarize myself with it.

I could relay titles and ranks but I don't think they mean much here. Anyway, I am- I was- a science officer and commander aboard a Starfleet vessel. Specifically, I'm trained in xenoanthropology.

Usually I count myself lucky when I escape Atlantis' ... antics... but apparently Lauren is rather disappointed that neither of her parents are carebears today.

Thirty years in Starfleet did not prepare me for "Papa, but WHY can't you be a carebear?"

Apparently being a human father is a disappointment.

Oh goody goody gosh!

I’m a Claire bear again. Everything is so much farther away than when I was a panda, though. I can’t reach anything. Thankfully Matt’s letting me ride around on his shoulders. Much faster that way.

I know this can be distressing, but think about it this way: you get a break from your normal life, and you get to experience something new! Does anyone need a hug? It’ll make you feel better. I’m very good at hugs. Matt says so, so it must be true.

I have never had a toothache hurt like this one! I woke up with it, took something and went to work and it got worse. I finally got someone to look at it but as soon as they decided to pull it, the pain stopped.

Which makes no sense at all. I mean, come on, pain doesn't just magically go away. Although considering where we are, maybe it does. The trip to the beach in the rain made even less sense but oh well.

[ PLOT :: ♆ - ONE CHARACTER EACH wakes up this morning with an incredibly painful toothache. If you go to medical, they eventually figure out they need to pull your tooth! The second they get close to pulling it the pain goes away, and you find yourself transported to the beach. ]

I think I've finally removed all the glitter from the house and the office and burned all the pictures. I hope everyone enjoyed pleasant dreams during my stint as a dream fairy, or whatever it was.

I'm going to have a large coffee now.

Things they don't teach you in officer training: how to change a diaper one handed in the dark. Though I can now mark that off my list.


It seems not even today's rain will deter my daughter from her pegasus riding lessons. She's been improving a lot this year and it's incredible to watch. (Although flying a pegasus is not the same as flying a starship.)

Also, I am incredibly grateful she did not inherit her mother's penchant for flinging horse manure at me.

Everybody might want to be a cat and I'll admit the song is catchy but at my house, it's been more like the dog wants to eat the cat. Luna is so confused, she has no idea why my voice is coming out of a cat. Thankfully Lauren has been keeping me safe while also laughing so hard she's crying.

Meow.

Thanks to my daughter, our apartment got filled up with flowers this week, which is probably not the worst thing in the world to happen although it did mean having to keep Luna from trying to eat them.

Date night soon, now that things are back to normal? Or what passes for normal? An evening with Lauren might be good for Jim as well.

What do you do when you run out of space on the fridge... and the walls? Between Lauren's regular art endeavors and craft month, I think every surface is covered with yarn or glitter. Do you make a rotating display?

This place is fascinating. You're entirely apart from what seems to be normal - I can't see the Mycelial Network directly, but I can absolutely sense how completely displaced I am from home. I'm not even sure I'd be able to jump here even if I tried. Should I be talking about this? Likely not, b

I keep being told by multiple sources to introduce myself. Lt Cmdr Paul Stamets of the USS Discovery. I'm taking the demotion in my new job here as an insult to my skills, but the holo did ask nicely enough.

That...was a good few days of hell. Sorry for skipping out on my job - not that I had a choice in the matter. I'm glad to see that everybody got back okay regardless.

Emily & Christine are both doing well, Lauren is thrilled to be a big sister, and I am still trying to figure out how to swaddle correctly.

I certainly didn't drink enough to have this sort of headache. Not your best move, Atlantis.

As much as I enjoyed having people here, even knowing it was temporary doesn't make their departure any easier.
