Despite the disparities in their positions and ages, Filius and Hermione actually make a lot of sense together: both highly intelligent, both gifted, both outsiders of sorts, in their own ways. And they would be slow and diffident about approaching each other, too. I love the moment of the petals, and the rose wreath, and the way the Castle reflects Filius's own conscience.
