What a beautiful and touching story and with wonderful 'quality of writing'!
I can only hope that in RL such a tradition exists as well, as it would be so helpful for a young woman struggling with her gender (or other recognizable 'struggle').
Loved Millicent here, the descriptions of the robes and suit, Madam Knarrly and the way she went about her job and there are so many more lovely details.
Minerva and Wil are probably my favourite pair and this story has them in a wonderful way.'Naturally.' *gg* what a lovely IC start to an awesome love-scene!
(Apart from that: this story came at the very right moment for me--I could 'so use' a fic with thoughts on gender, mothers and expectations and daughters reacting to those and breasts and how femininity or masculinity doesn't need to be defined. I mean, dear MA, that fics can also matter to readers and that makes them only more wonderful and meaningful (but that is probably also what most authors hope to achieve, so I'm saying nothing new here... Ach, what I'm making things complicated...your story touched me, in unforeseen ways and I think that's a big compliment ;-) )
