I know how much you struggled with this one, but it really turned out a masterpiece. So very dark and layered well. I loved the little details you spatter throughout, the memory of toy soldiers in the cupboard (à la movie canon) transposed with the rocks and marking of days; the thumbed through novel Severus had given him on display as a treasured item; the way each scene bleeds into the next even without the linear timeline. It all comes together as a fantastic thriller. Each time I read it, I pick up new and clever tie-ins and that is absolute gold.
You know I'm not a Snarry fan, but the way you write it, I find myself believing it and even treasuring the pairing.
