I honestly don't have words for how much I loved this story. It captured me from the start, and left me on this roller coaster with giggles at the bookends and Minerva's cursing and heart-aching tears with that glimpse into Neville's seventh-year and Minerva describing him as her "strong right hand".

Neville's voice is just perfect here, the slight glimpses of insecurities, his having to remind himself of people's first names and finding out that the Professor's are human. Someone had to stand up for the plants, too. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Then there's the scene in the library... *fans self* I love that you didn't shy away from describing any of them exactly as they are.

The last thing I really must comment on is the little hints of backstory and other details. I found myself wanting to know more about this history - I wanted to know about the women during the war, and whether Severus saw a similar scene during his first year teaching. And “Picture a book,” Professor Vector (Septima, Septima) had told him. “A large book. With a periwinkle cover. And shiny foil lettering. And sparkles. Are you getting a certain image, then?” I can picture it! (And it has given me plot bunnies, damn it!) I finished this fic wanting more - wanting to just immerse myself in every inch of these women's lives. It's amazing!
