I wanted to wait til morning to leave a comment to this fic, because last night all I could come up with was spastic keyboard mashing (which my iPad tries to autocorrect to the craziest, most illogical-comment-string statements) and yet I find that I'm not at all able to be coherent even now, after a full night's sleep. What struck me most about it is how human it is. Everyone has these thoughts and doubts somewhere along the line (not good enough, not exciting enough, not WHATEVER enough) and you've captured that perfectly here. It's not hysterical or overdone in the slightest, which I've seen when others attempted similar plots, it's just the right note of creeping doubt. Seriously excellent fic, even without the scorching hot smut. WITH the scorching hotness? *swoons*. Loved every word.
