Oh, I'm so glad you think it worked! I was quite conflicted about the way this story turned out -- much less about Minerva than I'd intended. But once I was in Lord V's head, it turned out to be a hard place to escape from. I wanted to make him understandable, but never to the point of asking for sympathy for him. I'd hoped for some of the "banality fo evil" or whatever -- because on some level, he is a "creepy stalker dude," however massive his delusions of grandeur.
