It's just hard to find a woman who'll use him the way he wants, which is a sad thing to have to write about anyone really, but it's kind of true. & my Blaise's background is totally non-canon (partly because he showed up here somewhere around book three coming out<3) but absolutely if a Blaise had a mother like canon-Blaise does it would at the very least warp one's view of women to an extraordinary degree. I think you'd either be wanting to emulate her or desperate to attach yourself to a man who would be strong enough to beat her. Ugh. Blaises. Sometimes I dream of building a giant rescue home for them somewhere. :/
Good grief, that's an impossible choice, that's awful. Christ. Poor Blaise. It's all very well to want to submit to people and give up everything you are to them but that, you can't just live like that forever, you have to have someone closer to your own level otherwise you lose everything you are and you can never get it back :/ if he chose Draco and that's why he lost them I'd still say he made the right choice, even if it was awful. Ngh.
*L* oh dear. I'm not at all surprised to hear that. Slytherins are just hardwired to want to own things, I guess, or at least to want things to do what they want. It's why I find them so fascinating but it does make for trouble at every possible opportunity.
