As for your fic, yay for posting it! *claps you congratulatorily on the shoulder* I think that first fics rarely get tons of comments, just because of the way LJ and the fandom works. My first fic posted here (I mean on LJ, not DD) only got a few, even though in my opinion it was awesome. xD As time goes by and you settle in more (and write more fic), there'll be more people who know about you and your fic and who'll want to spontaneously comment when you post a new one! A lot of it has to do with being close to your flist.
For this fic, right now, cross posting to relevant comms can help bring in more readers who wouldn't have known it existed otherwise. I don't know of any gen comms, except for yay_potterkids on LJ - check the userinfo/rules for that one, because there's complicated stuff going on with fic/art collaborations, and I don't know if you can just randomly post your own stuff there. Definitely worth checking out though. :)
