What you do in HP fandom and/or how long you've been here: These days? Not too much, but I'm hoping to turn that around soon. I first stumbled into HP fandom around 2004 or 2005, and became (extremely!) active in 2006. But in 2012, life happened, and I've been pretty absent aside from modding Daily Deviant for the last few years. However... I've started the process (and man, it really is a process!) of getting involved in things again, and I'm hopeful that some writing might even start to happen in the near future. *fingers crossed*
Favorite HP characters or pairings:
- My HP experience has largely been all about Snape and the older generation characters. I have a deep and semi-inexplicable love for Alastor Moody.
- Pairing-wise, in HP, I'm a big fan of "animosity pairings": Snape/Sirius, Snape/Remus, Snape/Harry, Ron/Draco, and Harry/Draco have always been my go-to favorites. I adore Snape/Moody when I can find it. And there really should be more Godric/Salazar out there.
- I'm a slasher first and foremost, but I appreciate a good story or piece of art whether it's slash, het, femslash, or gen. There are one or two pairings that just are not my thing, but for the most part, if you can sell it to me, I'll happily read/look at it.
Kinks, themes, and tropes that you eat up with a spoon (whether in HP specifically or more generally): Snark. Yes, it's totally a kink! Give me all the difficult, non-traditional romances between characters with sharp edges who show they care in unusual and often indirect ways.
Kinks, themes, and tropes that you could really do without (whether in HP or more generally): Fixed "top" and "bottom" roles, or the idea that a character's personality type or physique dictates what feels good to them in bed. The thinking that it's not "real" sex unless there's penetration. Pregnancy, mpreg, babies, kid fic, curtain fic, etc. I'm not a fan of kids or schmoop in real life, and I don't want them in my fanworks either. Or in my canon, for that matter.
Other fandoms or fannish things you enjoy: Tin Man ♥! I still love SGA, and I won't turn down some good MCU fanworks.
What you do in real life, other hobbies and interests you have, or anything else you think we might find interesting about you: Yaoi manga. I've developed an unhealthy and shameful yaoi manga addiction. I spend entirely too much time reading and analyzing the stuff, deconstructing the old tropes, and looking at the ways in which a lot of authors are playing with and subverting them these days.

What you do in HP fandom and/or how long you've been here: I started playing in fandom in 2003, so I'm a super-long timer, though I have to admit, I only lurk in fandom these days. I used to write lots of fic and drabbles, but I haven't written much in years, focusing instead on my own original stories these days, though I do still have some incomplete fic I should finish at some point.
Favorite HP characters or pairings: Draco, Severus, Remus, Blaise and Teddy are my top five, with Harry/Draco and Severus/Draco as my OTPs.
Kinks, themes, and tropes that you eat up with a spoon (whether in HP specifically or more generally): Bottom!Draco, D/s (which it has been much too long since I've read a good one of), BDSM of any sort, rimming, Mating (forced, accidental, A/B/O, etc), threesomes, first times, AU of most sorts, time travel, vampire/werewolf/veela fic, animagus stories whether known animagi or new ones. Probably lots more, but that's a good list.

What you do in HP fandom and/or how long you've been here: I write, mod and beta. I've been in HP specifically since maybe 2003, but didn't start writing until 2013. I actually used to borrow books from the library that had all the conspiracy theories about what was going to happen in the series! XD My comms are: hp-bunintheoven, hphet, luciousmalfoy, death-eaters (death-eaters-anon on DW), weasleyjumpers, and one-bad-man.
Favorite HP characters or pairings: My favourite characters are Harry, Draco, and Severus. Which, of course, led to my favourite pairings including a mix of those three. These days, I am very much into rare pairs, though. Oliver Wood/Marcus Flint, Rose Weasley/Blaise Zabini, Rabastan Lestrange/Luna Lovegood, etc. Very rare pairs, but I will also read nearly any pairing at least once, just to see whether I will like them.

Favorite HP characters or pairings: My all time OTP is Ron/Draco - Ron and Draco both being favorite characters of mine. I'll read (and have written) pretty much anything else as well, I'm not too picky.

The best place(s) to find you: LJ! I only use IJ for dd and rarely check DW, but you can find me as kiertorata on all of them. I feel a bit excluded from modern fandom because I'm so unenthusiastic about Tumblr! I miss when LJ fandom was active (even though I was a sad lurker back then!).
What you do in HP fandom and/or how long you've been here: I started reading fic in 2003! (16 years!) It turned into an obsession and I loved the golden years of HP fandom in 2004-2006 when there was a lot of plotty fic trying to resolve the story. Wish I could timetravel back and copy all the good stuff to my hard drive :---D
I started writing around 2007, but I've always been infamously slow at writing and bad at finishing things. Still, it's really picked up in the recent years and I've started to feel more confident signing up to fests and challenges. ^_^ I see myself as primarily a femslash creator. I sometimes do art, but I don't really enjoy it because my graphics tablet is a pain in the ass and I'm so out of practice that I spend too much time looking for reference models. I'm trying to fall in love with art again by giving up being realistic and learning to be more comic-styled about it instead.

Favorite HP characters or pairings: Pansy! Others I love are Ginny, Hermione, Fleur, Percy, Harry, Draco, Snape, and Padma. But there isn't a single character I wouldn't like if they're written well. I like reading slightly caricatured, humorous versions of characters, like they were in the original books. Femslash is my life and I'll read almost anything, but I'll gush over Ginny/Pansy, Hermione/Fleur, and Parvati/Lavender. My slash favorites are Percy/Oliver and Blaise/Neville, but I'll cry over some Marauders fic as well when I’m after a heartbreak. I used to read a lot of Drarry back in the day, but *insert unpopular opinion* these days I find myself a bit irritated with how Drarry takes up so much space in the fandom??? Like, hasn't every Drarry fic ever been written? What about rare pairs? And femslash??? :DDD (Not trying to pick a fight :D)

(Sorry! :'D) I do love it however when the dynamic between characters is juicy and there's tons of sexual tension and snark and flirting, and I enjoy bratty d/s dynamics. I love kinky art!

I guess in general I could do with less of an imbalance in pairing and character representations, but that's just me. I'm excited that femslash february brought with it lots of femslash smut.
Other fandoms or fannish things you enjoy: I analyze random things related to HP with my best friend daily. :D No other fandom has really stuck with me for a long time, but I do tend to obsess over books and TV shows for a short while after I've finished them.
