Save Atlantis RPG

So this power thing. Turns out I can go inside the television, be in whatever's showing. Found out first because Aramis was watching one of those Spanish shows with all the melodrama and secrets? I was trying to cheer him up and the next thing I knew, I was dressed like a delivery man and surrounded by strangers. I only know a few words of Spanish, so it was a little bit of a disaster but it was fun too.

Anyway, since it seems to be a lingering thing, this power, I've been thinking I should reach out to people who've actually grown up watching this stuff. If you could spend an afternoon in the movie or tv show of your choice, what would you pick?

I wished it were a bit warmer this morning, and now I have nothing less than sunshine following me around. It looks like I'm affecting by the same thing as Dylan. I'm both concerned at what this means but also relieved to have the summer heat at a time like this.

Does anyone have experience with training new powers? I'd like to ensure I don't make any mistakes with this new ability.

I'm sure it's no fault of my own, but it appears all of my roommates have left Atlantis for one reason or another. I'm assuming it's against Atlantis housing rules to request a transfer? Because there's room enough here for all three of us, plus one should d'Artagnan ever join us (this is, of course, assuming he and Constance can share a room).

I suppose they prefer to keep us all mingled for social purposes, however.

You are both well? I'm also re-teaching myself to cook, which is something I haven't had much use for since I joined up. If you're interested, I'm making beef bourguignon this evening. It's a recipe I learned from the house chef in a past life.

Today, our walk after work took Louis and I through the zoo. In what I can only assume is a combination of the animal-switching and meeting a lion for the first time, he has now declared himself a lion cub and is primarily communicating in roars.

It's very, very cute.

Please, if you see us out, react accordingly to what is clearly a small lion at my side.

I wonder what it says of me that my hour spent as the supposed World Creator left me even more inclined to scoff in his face. Relatedly, where can one get her hands on more of those little ghost strawberries?

For the record, I've officially claimed all of those who dressed as pirates last night as my crew. You are beholden, I hope you understand the responsibilities.

A grand party filled with friends and fun was the perfect way to end my first month here in Atlantis. If I missed anyone in my quest with Reinhardt to ask everyone about their costumes, please tell me about it here. I enjoy learning about whatever inspired you to dress as someone else.

Aye, I can think of nothing unwelcome occurring over the course of the evening, which was a welcome diversion from friends losing their gifts or being turned into rodents. Can we do this every month?

There is nothing like a journey well into the future to show a person just how woefully bereft of intelligence and experience they actually are. And to think, I considered myself rather knowledgeable.

Hello. I've been assigned a job within your ranks, and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Anne. I'm admittedly new to all of this -- both the world itself and, embarrassingly, the idea of having a job at all. I look forward to working alongside you, though.

Aramis insisted I post a public introduction, though I admit this feels very much like talking to the mirror in the bath. I am Athos, Captain of the King's Musketeers. Many of you know my companions, which I've yet to decide if I need to apologize for or not. Please, you tell me.

Prior to two days ago, it was the 17th century and is now the 21st. I am likely still in shock, but I've been given a tour and listed to the welcoming ghost several times now to ensure I know as much as I can. I'm also fond of the library. I'm curious... what passes for normal here?

I find it hard to believe that so much of this world is entirely possible, but I am content to embrace it either way.

My name is Anne. My son, Louis, and I are newly-arrived. Is there a reference available for how to operate the modern technologies here? I would hate to trouble anyone, and I'm sure I can manage to learn, but I'm dreadfully out of place and time.

Is anyone aware of a child mentoring program in Atlantis? An orphanage that could use volunteers? Before I was here, I actually had joined a monastery (please feel free to laugh now) , and my primary job there was caring for the children - something similar here would be nice. I make a much better nanny and nurse than teacher.

It occurred to me that I have not been nearly as romantic as I usually am and I am utterly ashamed. Porthos, would you care to join me for dinner this evening, at Cinders?

I wanted to thank all of you for your kindness in my introductory post, as well as the kindness shown to me in the days since. It isn't easy for me to take fantastic things on faith and you, as well as where we live, are all quite fantastic. I am lucky that my siblings have faith enough for me and those of you who conversed were quite patient with my pseudo-philosophical questions.

The longer I have been here, however, the longer I understand that it is all too real to be make-believe. And I do not want to waste any more time when, it seems, I have been chosen to support a goal. So, in case you were wondering, I will tell you a bit more about myself:

My name is Susan Pevensie. Edmund and Peter are my brothers, the poor things. But where I'm from, I'm getting ready to read Literature at Oxford. I love William Blake and Spenser. In fact, a copy of The Faerie Queene came with me from home. I've been to one of Mrs. Woolf's talks at school and I feel very strongly that we may find some equity amongst the sexes in my lifetime. I want to be a Professor and I want to write about moments of artistic or religious ecstasy.

And yes, Narnia is r This is not my first time hopping world to world, either. I spent many years as one of four rulers of a land called Narnia. I'm no longer a Friend of N We had Talking Animals, Dwarves, Fauns, Satyrs, Tree Spirits and other such subjects that we loved very dearly. It was a wardrobe (that was in a house, in the English countryside) that we traveled through. A wardrobe made from two trees from a sacred grove. A wood between worlds. I also met Father Christmas and he gifted me with a bow and a quiver full of arrows. The bow rarely misses. And I think it may be magic, not me. There's a horn somewhere, too. And it will bring aide to whoever blows it - but the horn has been in the hands of others for ever so long.

All of this to say, hello. You and I are very real. I am at University continuing my study of Literature and I would like to get to know more about all of you. Mightn't you share with me your name and something you love about our new home? I would very much like to hear it.

Train stations are strange places. Liminal spaces, I guess. They are only for waiting and never for staying. I've loathed them so well through my life that at one point, I thought to never again take a train. I'd rather fly or go in a car. I was just at a train station. I picked up a coin and, I suppose, I fell or blacked out because I'm here now but I know it cannot be.

I was just in England. I was in England in 1949, in fact. And Atlantis is a land made entirely of fiction, ergo I must be dreaming. This technology is likewise years ahead of what I know. We have computing machines at University that take up whole rooms. And to my knowledge, there's only one. Not hundreds. So, I hope that some kind soul has seen fit to put a sheet over me or drag me out of the road until I wake up.

In the meantime, I shall say hello to you. All of you figments of my imagination. I hope you are doing quite well.
