My fortune cookie said something about future not being guaranteed, and to continue embracing the present. I'm going to take that and the fact that I'm unchanged today as a sign. Clearly, I'm just going to look like this forever, or die spectacularly young. Either will work just fine.

I very much need to lay eyes on my sweet elderly companions, though, so don't be shy. Let me see your beautiful faces.

Where would one go for clothing here? It seems clear that armor is not necessary for daily wear in Atlantis, and I find I miss Lucas Darby's jeans. They were very comfortable.

Okay, is anyone going to explain what’s going on around here? People have been talking about how things make more sense now, which is great for them, except things have gotten more and more confusing for me and I’m getting real tired of feeling like we’re the only clueless ones.

"It seemed like a good idea at the time" are words to make a firefighter cringe. A floating campfire might seem like a good idea in a movie, but don't try to build one without proper experienced supervision.

It's all fun and games until someone falls in the lake.

I got accosted today while enjoying my PSL (it's clearly fall, everyone) by some asshole who apparently got mistreated by me in the name of work. Long story short, she asked if I 'grew up wanting to be a heinous cow who could feel okay with myself for ignoring good, innocent people, or if it happened by accident.'

Very early in my career in Vegas, I worked at this club where the owner really liked being the boss. I was a baby, so I didn't question much, but he was always quick with the explanations as to how the world was much harder outside of the club, and that we'd never make it out there so it was okay if we didn't get paid much. I'm a pretty spiteful bitch, though, and did manage to leave. It took some time, but I eventually figured my shit out and the rest happened pretty quickly. Years down the road, when I was a business owner myself, I bought that club in a foreclosure and sent him a 'thank you' note (spite, remember?).

All of this to say, yeah. Basically, I did grow up wanting to be a heinous cow who could feel okay with myself for ignoring good, innocent people.

Wedding Anniversary weekend! Theo and I are taking off to Denver, so try not to need us.

Got home from my shift this morning, took some pain killers for the sore muscles I was complaining about? Passed out for 10 hours and ended up having the most vivid dream.

Now, don't laugh, even though I know you're all going to laugh. But first, I was in the Sims. Going about my business, in a house that looks like a five year old designed it. Speaking a Sim language that was not translated in the dream, flirted with the maid, got slapped, answered the phone- I am not joking when I said this was vivid. But, I went to bed, as the Sim, and "woke up" to an Angel standing over me. In Sim-dream-land.

Truly, the most out of body experience. She was beautiful, hair long and flowing, wings spread out behind her as she floated there. Then, suddenly I was me, and the Angel was still there. She was talking to me, but I couldn't hear a word she was saying - lips moving and nothing coming out. But I just felt... calm. Like I was being reassured.

When I woke up this afternoon, I swear I had a red mark on my shoulder where she had touched me in the dream, but it was gone in a blink.


Now that the painkillers are out of my system, I think I've earned a drink or two. Anyone going out tonight?

I'm sure you'll all be delighted to hear that the Fire Department calendar is a go again for 2019. Our wonderful leader has designated me December this time. So I get to cover the rig in tinsel.

Alright, I have regrets. Why am I so bloody competitive?? Still think I won, King, but if you wanna go again once my brain freeze passes...

I'm kidding. If I never eat another creamsicle in my life, it'll be too soon.
