This thing keeps changing my usual greeting to watcher so I guess I'll just say hello. Teddy said I should introduce myself here and showed me how to use this thing. Pretty ace! I'll take it over parchment and ink, yeah? Clean, and I can just erase mistakes. I like it.

Call me Tonks. Just Tonks. The directory here shows a lot of names I recognize and a lot I don't, but since I'm a mum now I need to socialize good and proper. I got here today, apparently in the middle of some kind of situation where some of your men are gone a bit mad? Not my doing, I promise. I'll be working as a Detective, which sounds a bit more descriptive than Auror, but I'll take it.

I almost feel like I'm back in middle school trying to avoid puddle splashes! Little Neal is really enjoying it. I think I might have to find him a new rain outfit.

Not to say that I don't enjoy the holidays as much as the next person, but from a work perspective, my second favorite thing about January is that it's another eleven months until I have to deal with the insanity again. My favorite thing about January is that my son is turning two on the 31st. My least favorite is getting quizzed by the door to my office every time I need to go in or out.

Usually when I have a hangover and it starts to fade, it doesn't come roaring back an hour or two later.

This doesn't bode well for a start to a new year.

I can't believe it's almost Christmas already.

I think I'm g am hosting a Cookie Exchange Luncheon! Christmas eve at noon, outside Footsteps. Basically the rules are as follows:

Everyone brings one type of cookie. Your favorite, or whatever you're best at baking, or whatever you'd like to try. At least two dozen, but more is better.

They have to be homemade. I work at Footsteps, so you can't buy them here and use them.

You have to bring cookies to eat cookies. No exceptions.

We put the cookies out on a giant table, and there's refreshments and some other snacks.

Design a little card for your cookie at the little design kiosk that will be set up.

Everyone rotates around the room with a tin and takes one of everything (or one of whatever interests you).

We eat and try all of the cookies and end up in cookie comas. (Everyone profits!)

Anonymously vote for the cookie that was your favorite. Top 3 will win a prize from Footsteps Bakery.

*If you have any allergies, please let me know ahead of time.

If you don't mind sharing your recipe, make sure you bring it with you for when people ask. I suggest making copies or have it ready to be sent via network.

Let me know if you'd like to attend so I can make sure we have enough tables and seating for everyone.

This month is just flying by, and the Advent Calendar has been a mix of adorable and a little crazy.

Today's PJs came with a matching one for our dog. They came in a nice check pattern, but I'm not so sure Satchmo is as excited by the idea.

Whoever was thinking about Lemon Poppyseed Muffins this morning, I've now been craving them for the past 2 hours.

I'm so sorry for anything I might overhear.

Glad to be human again. Glad the Police Department didn't burn down in the meantime, but really, one blow after another, Atlantis?

PLOT: Peter has been overwhelmed with the urge and drop everything and cook a pasta dinner. His kitchen skills are questionable, so feel free to have characters express skepticism or make back up plans. There will be pizza tonight after the pasta fail.

It amazes me how fast time goes by here.

It's hard to believe in less than a month it will be two years since Dimitri and I woke up in Atlantis. That also means in just over two months, our son Ivan will be two years old. Holy shit, time flies.

We're having a part for him, naturally, and you will all be invited, so watch out for that e-vite. Yep, even the newbies. If we haven't met, yet, hi! I'm Rose Belikova.

At the risk of sounding sappy, I'm pretty damn lucky to be here surrounded by so many family and friends.
