I'm very impressed by all the athletes so far, and very proud of my wife. My father covered the 1948 Olympics. I was the first since the war began, and the only one I was old enough to remember. He said it was incredible. We may not have quite so many competitors here, but I agree with him. It's worth braving the cold to watch.

It's almost my birthday, isn't it. This is weird — even when I was kidnapped legitimately, as opposed to borrowed by Atlantis for good reason, I wasn't away from my family for my birthday.

The strangest thing happened to me today although around here, that's not saying much, is it? I was feeding the birds and one of them gave me a seed. It said (yes, it talked to me, I promise I'm not making this up) that I should save it and plant it when I felt like I needed some good luck. So I have it and we'll see what happens.
