[What with the arrival of the Marauders and the recent incident at Oscorp, a little hospital fire doesn't make the top story. In the early morning a fire erupted at Midtown General. ICU patients were transferred to a separate wing as firefighters arrived to combat the flames. Twelve people were injured during the blaze, and at least one patient has been reported missing. Jane Doe was unconscious during her admission, with injuries the result of last week's Oscorp indicent. Nurses say that the woman woke from her coma only minutes before the fire began and disappeared during the chaos of patient transfer.]

[It's a bright, yet sweltering, summer Wednesday morning in 1922 when the clouds arrive - at first it is just a few rainclouds spitting rain on New York throughout the morning, the temperature begins to fall around the lunchtime hour.

By two in the afternoon the clouds become darker, and it falls to just freezing temperature, the snow begins to fall. It's not a blizzard, but it is summer - the news radio can't explain it - some are even enjoying it. It's a small snowfall compared to winter - a few of inches at most - but no one was prepared for it.

The snow storm seems to be centered around and near the theater district, and out in the streets people are either miserable or elated, there doesn't seem to be an in-between. Traffic becomes backed up, pedestrians and drivers alike are completely unprepared for a summertime snow storm after all. Though some view it as an even further excuse to celebrate.

Like everything in this world, the snow sparkles against the shiny backdrop of the city. Many residents are simply taking it in stride and finding an excuse to continue in their lavish lifestyles and bunk in at a singular location into the nighttime hours, the parties continue.

The cold weather continues through Wednesday night and into Thursday morning when the sun and steamy New York heat returns and the thaw begins.]

[Phone calls and visitors, all in the same week? It was like Christmas and his birthday right close together, though Will was sure only he would be happy with such 'gifts' for those celebrations. The orderly came to the front of his cell, and for a moment, Will simply stared at him. He hated this part, the indignity of being lead around in chains, but submitting to the treatment was easier than fighting against it. So he put his hands through the slot and looked up towards the ceiling as the cold iron was clapped about his wrists. Only then did they let him out, leading him down the corridor towards the private visitation room, and that in itself was something he was grateful for. Not even Chilton's electronic ears could penetrate this room, so even if it was videotaped, at least the conversation would be private.

He was released only long enough to cuff him to the table, the short chain that ran through the heavy iron loop set into the table, limiting his movement to a point where he was comfortable, but only just. And then Will sat back to wait, dark curls and several weeks worth of beard upon his cheeks.]

[Things get heated on the internet as the Marvel Door's world seeks some serious diversion from the pending world invasion. There's certainly plenty of gossip fodder, what with all the people running around in suits of various kinds.]

[Five hours since the first ship appeared, the Marauder invasion of New York City has left the Marvel world in a flurry of clean up, defense efforts, and media coverage.

As of now, the entirety of Manhattan is in ruins, burnt out, looted, smashed, or destroyed by Marauders and their ships, all of which have retreated into orbit to join the waiting fleet. The world is waiting tensely for developments from this new threat.

Stark Tower is still standing, and Mary Jane Watson and Pepper Potts are coordinating relief efforts and tech distribution from there. The NYFD, NYPD, US military, SHIELD, and Red Cross are all on the scene. Victims and refugees are being airlifted to safe locations, the farthest reaches of which are in Boston, MA.

Global media is entranced by the new heroes spotted in the battle. Instagram shots of a woman in a sun dress with ice powers, a man with an S on his chest, a flying woman in spangled armor, a woman in a black leather catsuit, a guy in a bat-eared cowl, and a man in glowing green light up the internet. The Avengers, who are being covered as a coordinated team (which erroneously includes the man in armor who was seen with Spidey) as well as Hawkeye are appearing over and over, with various theories on who works with who and who knows what. The news goes back and forth between reporting on the horrific disaster and death toll, and theorizing on who the two mini!Cap and mini!Thor teenagers are. Half the world is trying to discover the origin of anyone they haven't seen before (like Carol) and anyone else who was within sight of a camera and didn't have the foresight to evade detection. Nearly everyone on scene are already earning fan pages, inaccurate nicknames, and government files.

A few people have caught sight of Loki and there is national outrage, as he is known to be responsible for the last alien attack in this city/world/door.

Many of those captured, estimated to be in the thousands, are still missing.]

[Wednesday night, there's a very interesting sight outside Wayne Tower (it's the tallest building in town, see?). Hoisted high on the flagpole is a very naked woman. She's uninjured, but there is a name written over and over on her bare skin in red VERY permanent marker: DONOVAN.

The boy that hoisted her up is standing there, waiting to be arrested, the marker in his hand. He's no more than twenty, and he offers no reason for his actions. However, everyone in Gotham knows the patsy boy's a Falcone. It's his last name, after all. There's nothing tying the well-known crime family to the crime, though. There never is.]

[Tony clicks onto the Avengers + Guests comm. He's been on clean-up and rescue in NYC and when the news comes in he was practically asleep standing up between building excavation, and the only reason nobody noticed was because the suit can freeze in place without anyone noticing for at least three minutes. Tired, but in a deceptively good mood, he takes a break from Hulk-watch to scroll through a news feed.]

I hear Boston is pretty this time of year. I'm really in the mood to run from my problems and find new aliens to blow up. It makes me feel manly.

[Iron Man is in the air and the two crashed ships at the base of Stark Tower are gaping wide open. The military and SHIELD personnel that can be spared are spreading the word to board for a quick trip to Boston, and let's be real, if you're a civilian with some ability they're going to look the other way when you're boarding. Hours before, a lot of refugees were already lifted to Boston in the mistaken impression they'd be safe there.

The first ship is already in the air, the second standing ready.

He speaks through the armor and anyone nearby and on the comms can hear.] Cap? You up for round 2?

[Initially he's intending on locking it just to the Donovans after this but then he adds Sam, on second thought, doubting he'll get a response.]

I'm going down to the police station to make sure Ash is alright and to make a statement. Not that there will be any need, everyone in town seems to know who did this and why, if the papers are to be believed.
