The car race brings back some fun memories of Prague, although driving is more fun than watching cars go around in circles.

Still, a cold beer, a hot dog and sitting in stands is a nice break.

This is the first birthday that I wouldn't have had if I weren't here. Huzzah and such, but I guess it's a landmark worth noting. Sharing your birthday with a Hallmark holiday is better than Christmas, for the record. Or so I'd imagine.

So, uh. Hi. My name is Eliot, most people call me El, and in the future version of Atlantis I run a weekly D&D group. I figured I should extend an invitation to anybody who wants to give it a go or anything here and I know it sounds bizarre, considering a lot of people are actively going on missions and scenarios where they have to fight monsters and shit like that, but it's an escape from life that a lot of people back home really enjoyed.

I would want to start with a small-ish group at first, but I can maybe stretch to running two groups a week if there's a huge amount of interest? I want to be able to give everybody and their characters as much time and attention as possible without stretching myself too thin as a Dungeon Master.

For people from other worlds who don't know what D&D is: It's a tabletop roleplaying game where basically you build a character based in another world. We essentially put that character (in a group) through different scenarios, battles and tell a story that everybody builds together. If you're still lost (I'm used to people having a vague understanding of D&D existing which some of you might not have) there's a link here that covers the absolute bare-bones basics, but if you're interested I'll teach everybody how to play and explain a lot more in depth in-session. I also know a few other people here know the core mechanics and can help teach you all.

It would either be at my house or held at Coffee Me Better with free coffee provided by yours truly either way. I promise it's a really fun time and I'm willing to work with anything you throw at me as your long-suffering DM.

My plush riddle dragon is making me miss D&D. Is anyone running a group here? Room for another if so? Otherwise, if anyone wants to put together a regular group, please count me in!

I really hope this is just an Atlantis thing and I didn't accidentally fuck something up, because everything I dreamed last night seems to be bleeding into Atlantis. Like, literally. Sorry if you guys hate bubbles. I can't seem to make them go away.

Um, also, there seems to be a younger version of the twins running around. Kind of like astral projections or whatever - I saw them run right through a wall like it was nothing.

PLOT: ONE CHARACTER EACH had rather vivid dreams the night before, the weirdest part some of them seem to be coming true today! Julia dreamed she was in the park making bubbles with the twins and today Atlantis is full of magical bubbles + there is an incorporeal version of Hope & El as 5 year-olds running around Atlantis today. Thanks to Andrea for the idea!

Plant a magic bean, think about how much you miss your greenhouse, and wake up to it sitting in the backyard. I like how this place works sometimes. If anybody has an interest in magical plants, let me know. Don't, uh, don't just go in there. Some of the plants are poisonous. And a few of the ones in the back are just plain tetchy.
