Tomorrow at the Hanged Man in the Village, we're doing up cards and drinks to celebrate Satinalia a bit as a group, but also to celebrate the Inquisitor's birthday. Low-key. This'll be Wicked Grace and good times, maybe a few small gifts. Only rule is leave problems at the door. Let's aim for starting around 8 and then until the weaker few head home and the rest of us pass out.

I deeply apologise to anyone who is in the adjacent quarters to mine. This fiddle was here when I woke up and I could not help myself but want to play it. Unfortunately, I don't know how to play it, hence the infernal noises. Then I got angry about it and crushed the instrument against a wall after hours unending attempting to learn. Hence the different but equally infernal noises. It should be quiet now.

I never enjoyed the simple pleasures of an advent calendar before Atlantis. While we had gift-giving holidays in Lordran, they took a backseat by necessity to fighting monsters and tending to victims of the undead curse, both activities that cut into shopping time, and then the merchants are usually the first to go anyhow which also complicates things. But advent calendars! I think home would love them. There's something so fun about opening up little doors to see what treat awaits us every morning, and so far, nothing is poisoned or needs to be slain, which is a jolly surprise. Also, I think socks have an undeserved reputation for being boring; cold feet aren't very festive if you've ever had them.

But truly the greatest surprise this winter has been the arrival of my unexpected but not unwelcome son, Declan Hawke. His honor, intelligence and charm are surely from his mother's side of the family, and if you haven't yet met him, you must.

I think we did well. Don't you? He's perfect. I'm still a little shell-shocked by it all but... it's hard to be anything but happy about him, isn't it?

I've talked to a few people, but I have this bad habit of being kind of insular when I'm not forced to publicly socialize, and since I'm trying to not make my parents regret having me-

I'm Liam. My parents are Athos and Isabela and I've gotta give them credit for handling the idea of a surprise kid pretty well, especially one having a panic attack about spoiling the future on day 1.

But for the record in the future, you all support your local artists and buy my graphic novels, and occasionally stories that are inspired by Atlantis shenanigans, including all the times I illustrate for Uncle Varric's work. And when I drew on Uncle Garrett's walls and he called it a masterpiece so I wouldn't cry.

Growing up around here could've definitely been worse.

Did anyone else get an advent calendar in their room? I haven't opened today's door yet; strange presents appearing out of nowhere are usually of the apocalyptic variety back home. Unless they're from Santa. And with our track record, he could be evil too? Anyway. On the off-chance that this isn't a cursed relic from an ancient coven, thank you, it's really pretty. I know that Christmas decorations can be kind of tacky but I love all the pretty twinkly lights and the wrapping paper. Even the big trees that shed everywhere. We haven't done much with Christmas since Mom d I guess this place will probably have weird magic for the holidays, right? That seems to be Atlantis's raison d'être.

I'm rambling. Does anyone have anything that could help me slee I've been quiet since I got here. I swear I'm not trying to be like, the antisocial girl, but the training here is no joke, and... I kind of want to focus on that. It's funny, at home, I had high school to kind of dovetail social stuff with work and I'm getting into a bad habit of just hermitting it up and... okay, this is pathetic, we're going to be better than that, so:

Hello. I'm Allison Argent, and I've... done the new girl speech a lot. I arrived here a few days ago from Beacon Hills, California, where I was a junior in high school. I was waiting for things to settle down before introducing myself, but it's beginning to look like every day is a new adventure here, and bears are better than pheromones, so. Hello.

I'm going to be a field agent here. My focus is on archery, but I'd like to learn more across the board, particularly in self-defense. My form was apparently sloppy enough to get me killed an I'd appreciate anyone who wants to train with me. I'm human - no powers or abilities - but I'm very willing to put in the time and effort to learn new techniques.

So let's recap this month for me, shall we? It's been one hell of a ride since I got here, but this one just takes the cake. It's Halloween's month, so of course, there's all those decorations. I spent most of it on a mission that had me trapped in a damned garden. Come back and all of a sudden I'm urgently in need to study all the maps in Atlantis (not that that's necessarily a bad thing, considering it's good to know the ins and outs of where you live). Immediately the next day there's the urge to make pasta. Nothing else. Just pasta. All the freaking pasta.

I come back to find Sam and Castiel gone, as well as James. So there's literally just me now.

And then to top it all off, I get caught up in a maze today... A freaking maze. Where the hell does Atlantis come up with this stuff and why does it feel like I'm being targeted this month?

I need a beer. Where the hell are Kara and James when I need them?

Is it too late to be forced to live an alternate life with false memories? Because if I had to choose a way of being messed with by cosmic forces... Asking for a friend.
