I'm ridiculously dramatic and monumentally stupid, I know this and am also gifted with being self-aware. So, in the interest of said self-awareness, I need to get my head on straight. That means I'm cutting myself off. Entirely.

Things were shit, and then they were okay and then they were kind of shit again, and now that I'm here, I definitely went overboard on the drinking and sex and drugs. I was painfully useless when stuck in the jungle two days ago - sorry Peter, you're lovely and your girlfriend is very lucky - and I've been ... a mess.

So, here we go. Yoga, virgin drinks, actually doing my job and magical research and practice. I've got this.

(That said, I'm not cruel enough to cut all of you off, so I'll still help out with cocktails at any party after a week or so. This week probably won't be that great, as I've learned in the past. But at least I'm not quitting smoking, cause ha my willpower is not that grand.)

I should have learned my lesson not to enjoy these events, but today is The Best Day because I just scratched Hawke’s ears and he kicked at the ground with his foot.

So. With the very present danger that exists in our lives here (you know, of turning into foods or pets), I’ve decided what I’d like on my grave marker should I die. In keeping with the noble tradition of the Dirty Limerick, I present my epitaph:

A thank you to all who humored me with a dance at the Halloween party. Your low standards do you credit. The party was a lot of fun, although I plan to watch what I eat around here from now on. Transparent clothing I can work with; impromptu dance-offs, on the other hand...

This is likely a reach, but feliz Día de los Muertos, should you celebrate it. This is what, the second year in a row I've gone without any mote con huesillos? Packing wheatberries is apparently not a prerequesite of a successful space exploration mission - undoubtedly that is where the Andromeda Initiative went so wrong. At any rate, I'm sure Vidals of past generations understand why I'm not present at their grave sites with gifts and chocolates - when one has the opportunity for adventure, you go.

Now that High Queen Margo the Mole is resting comfortably in her gem encrusted dirt-filled pot (with custom made throne and crown, I might add), it seems like a good time for this:

Since our two groups have been brought together by our respective Magical Parental Units, it seemed fitting to have a little get together to celebrate such a union.

This Saturday, we're having a little Eliot and Margo party to welcome everyone into our little Physical Kids club. From 7 in the evening until ... whenever, there will be drinks (made by yours truly), food (also made by yours truly), conversation, music (contained with magic, because we are not rude neighbors), dancing and magical theory and practice. No costumes required, this isn't a Halloween thing.

If my roommates don't agree, we'll be having it at Julia and Remus's place, but until then - Heart 13, Saturday October 27th, 7pm. Feel free to bring a +1 if they're not on this.

(Oh and we have an escape plan in the works for Penny if they won't let us have a 2 hour hall pass. I know how much he loves hanging out with people.)

Does anyone have objections to my throwing a party on Saturday? You'll be welcome, of course, it's going to be full of magic and drinks for all of you to enjoy. I'll have wards up to block the noise from the bedrooms, and obviously no one's allowed to get up to any shenanigans in your rooms.

Name is Reyes Vidal. I arrived Saturday; spent the weekend vetting your bars to see if they had promise. Atlantis. Not exactly what I pictured in my head from the stories, but nothing ever is. Fewer fish. More heroes. About the same number of sirens. I've been placed as a field agent, but I'll be seeking part-time employment elsewhere. People person, you know how it is.

I'm from the Milky Way galaxy, although recently have been calling Kadara Port in Andromeda home, deadly home. It's always had a charm about it, as long as you like acid pools and people who cheat at cards. Although as of late, it's just the latter thanks to one Sara Ryder. If she's said anything unkind about me - believe it all.

Maferath's hairy ass, I thought a sack mead hangover was pretty bad, but a hell of a lot of beer following too many milkshakes is a new experience all together. Watch out for those Hawkes, people. They seem nice, but there's a darkness in there that delights in causing stomach problems.

Which is a hell of an introduction. Name's Varric and I have to say I like this a lot more than ink and paper.
