Hello. I wanted to suggest, with the recent COS activity, that we meet to discuss simulations and opportunities to prepare agents using advanced simulations that include our multiple specialties. Athos, if I'm stepping on your toes, I beg your pardon. I've read the reports and they are concerning. While COS have attacked and kidnapped our agents before, I want it to be the last time. And well, four heads are better than one.

Otherwise, I was wondering if someone might give me a book recommendation? I've had years with law books, the Bible and reams of briefs. I'd like a good story.

FRIENDS & FAMILY:

It’s my birthday so you’re all going to tolerate me being sappy for a moment, thank you.

The last few years have been a roller coaster, to say the least. A lot of highs that took my life places I never expected, and a lot of really low lows that did the same. More lows than anything else, the kind that spiral and you feel out of control. And then I came here and got to meet all of you (or see you again), got to have my mom meet all of you, got to spend the holiday with people I care about instead of staring at the walls of a hospital like every other year (which I didn’t hate, but this was a nice new normal, too), and that is a gift I’ll never take for granted. I feel really lucky to know all of you, and so I wanted to say thank you for making Atlantis one hell of a place to be.

Okay, I’m done. Carry on.

Even in this crazy snow, I managed to ride a Pegasus today. Atlantis magic (???) or whatever it is lightened up the snowfall while I was riding.

I'm guessing they're not on the list of adoptable pets here, are they?

Reflection is useful. And I want to better understand how my actions have positive and negative impacts on others. In another ... well, in another universe? That had been secondary to the mission I believed God placed before me. But here in Atlantis, things are different. And I am thankful for them.

Now, I know there aren't many Americans here. But some sort of meal, maybe? To express gratitude. Gratitude for the opportunities we've been given here. I want to know if you think it's a good idea.

It can be a little difficult to make peace with some things that happen here. At home, there was an artifact that could control people and I used it - briefly - in order to confiscate it from men who would have abused its power a hundred thousand times over. It makes me especially anxious when Atlantis decides to steal people's will, but also regretful for when I chose to do the same to others. The greater good excuse feels hollow in retrospect.

Nothing can change what is done, but I hope to keep putting some good back into the universe to balance the scales. It is a small thing, but I offered to foster injured birds for the animal shelter, hoping my experience with messenger birds could come in handy there. I did not expect they would allow me to care for this extraordinary creature.

This post recognizes that a bet is a bet. Sara Ryder beat me fairly and I owe her a beer at the place and time of her choosing.

So here's the deal. SAM can't be compelled, and I don't do well being stuck inside trying to avoid people. You're all pretty okay, sure, but I don't actually want to go to the dance with anyone, even if my brain is trying to convince me that I do. What SAM says goes for me until this is done.

So I'm digging my feet in on training today, and I'm looking for some extra sparring partners. Prefer people who can take a really hard hit so I don't have to hold back and I want people that are going to ignore me when I stupidly blurt out something like "go to the dance with me" like I'm back in grade school.

I wasn't sure what to make of this place at first, but I gotta say, it hasn't disappointed me yet. Less than ideal without my family, but I think they'd all be disappointed in me if I didn't stay to help out.

That said, does anyone go running in the mornings? And if so, do you want a buddy? My sister and I used to keep each other in check. It's good motivation, and with all the hot as hell people here, I figure someone else is bound to be interested in staying in shape. Don't let me down, Atlantis.

A note to all my trainees that Halloween festivities or indulgences will not excuse you from classes. And anyone who shows up noticeably hungover will get to play with the battle ropes.

Atlantis certainly keeps us on our toes. Whether it's spending 24 hours as a 75 year old or magical fluctuations at the base, we'll never be bored. Same goes for blank newspapers. It was this morning's particular brand of buzz.

In that vein - if any of my combat trainees are disconcerted by the purportedly blank newspapers, bring them to me. I'll hold onto them and we'll see what happens. Even if you're not afraid and, like me, just curious. Do so, and you win the right to a one on one with both hands free. If you don't bring one, you lose the right to use both hands.
