Hi, for those of you who don't know me, my name is Bonnie Bennett. I'm a witch and here in Atlantis I work as a Magic Specialist.

Awhile back, I brought up the idea of doing a kind of magic group. We only had a few meetings at the time, but with a lot more of us here, it seemed like a good idea to start it up again.

Basically, what I'm suggesting is that we meet regularly - weekly, biweekly, monthly, whatever - and talk about magic. We can share experience and advice. Those of us with more training can help to guide the ones who are still learning. We can even experiment with combining powers to see what we can do together, which Atlantis is probably cool with as long as we don't blow anything up.

If you guys are interested, I'll reserve one of the meeting rooms on the base. I'll even bring the coffee and the donuts.

The last few years have been a roller coaster, to say the least. A lot of highs that took my life places I never expected, and a lot of really low lows that did the same. More lows than anything else, the kind that spiral and you feel out of control. And then I came here and got to meet all of you (or see you again), got to have my mom meet all of you, got to spend the holiday with people I care about instead of staring at the walls of a hospital like every other year (which I didn’t hate, but this was a nice new normal, too), and that is a gift I’ll never take for granted. I feel really lucky to know all of you, and so I wanted to say thank you for making Atlantis one hell of a place to be.

Hi Atlantis. I have to say spending the new year on a mythical island wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but it beats being on call at the hospital. I'm Elena, for those who don't know me already, and I'll be working in medical once I get settled.

So, let's see, I've already seen my best friends, my dead ex-boyfriend, and my sort of husband. Anyone else here I know?

In an effort to try to offset any homesickness I might feel this month... does anyone want to plan some holiday things with me? There’s the Parade of Lights tonight we could go to. We could plan a time to get a Christmas tree (can we get one here???) if people want to, and decorate it while watching a holiday movie and baking cookies to give to people. We could go ice skating? Have an ugly holiday sweater party? A gift exchange? Anything, really. I’m curious what other people’s holiday traditions are, too.

One of the weirdest parts about being human has been working on the outside of all those abilities I had come to take for granted. The emotions, the speed, the compulsion ... I was really getting used to being human and re-learning how time can be precious.

When the people around us started getting "powers", I did too. I thought it was a fluke and I could deal, so I've kept it pretty quiet. But now that the rest of them are gone I think it's important to tell you that mine aren't. I found out that I can teleport. Right now, it's working with small objects. I haven't tried it with anything living yet. I don't really want to think about that responsibility.

All of that being what it is, I want you to know. I don't know that I'm ready (or if I should) tell the whole group. I welcome your thoughts, though.

I guess since we are getting married soon it was time to get a pet.

Usually, when I think about fixing things (I'm a mechanic at the base), I think about getting under a Chevelle or an Impala. Learning the ins and outs of circuitry and technology has been interesting. But what I'm excited about?

We got a jeep in and I have to replace the transmission. I swear, it's like Christmas.

He's six months old they tell me and so far he's behaving and clawing things. Probably because the first thing they told me to do was buy a scratching post.

It would have been worth it if we’d gotten rid of him, but I’m really glad our month of probation is officially over now.

So let's see. October has seen me sleeping on the beach in a tent with Marcus then having a weird black cat following me around. All things considered, I suppose that's not bad. At least I'm not a mole so there's that.

But dammit now I want a cat.
