I decided to wait for this until everyone was over their fruitcake cravings:

When a fruitcake contains a good deal of alcohol, it can remain edible for many years. For example, a fruitcake baked in 1878 was kept as an heirloom by a family (Morgan L. Ford) in Tecumseh, Michigan.[12] In 2003 it was sampled by Jay Leno on The Tonight Show.[13] Wrapping the cake in alcohol-soaked linen before storing is one method of lengthening its shelf life.[14]

A 106-year-old fruitcake discovered in 2017 by the Antarctic Heritage Trust was described as in "excellent condition" and "almost" edible.*

I knew it wouldn't last forever but I'm grateful for having the last few weeks with my mother.

Also, I knowm part of my life is a science fiction movie but I certainly hope the music is better than what I've been hearing all day. I hope that anyone else that's hearing it got a better soundtrack.

Hello, Atlantis. My name is Jyn Erso and I realize that I've been here for some time now so I shouldn't need to introduce myself but stars, there are so many more of you that I feel like I should!

I didn't meet my future children but I got a very special gift for my birthday which was about two weeks ago. My mother. She was killed when I was a child so getting to spend time with her has been amazing. I know Atlantis does a lot of really bizarre things but this time they certainly got it right.

I've visited some extraordinary planets, but this must be the most remarkable, if only for the chance to see my daughter grown into such an amazing woman and to celebrate her birthday with her.

I know that not everyone celebrates Thanksgiving, but one of my favorite parts about the holidays is just being with friends and family. So... let's go for it. Let's have a mix of traditional and non-traditional Thanksgiving on Thursday for anyone interested. We can have it at the shop or I can check with my roommates to see if either of them mind us doing something there. You're both more than welcome to join!

And don't worry. There won't be any crazy food or drinks making us do weird things!

Howdy folks. The name's Jesse McCree. Lotta people just call me McCree on account of them being military or sticks in the mud (or both), but it's grown on me, so I don't mind none. It looks like I'll be a field agent around these parts so if any nice fella or lady wants to show me the ropes around the training area, that be mighty kind. I'm good with a gun and sneakier than I look, but the boss is a real tightass about training so I'll probably have to take every damn class you got, optional or otherwise.

On a more personal note, anybody know where I can get good cigars around here?

Why did you hug

I have spent the last six hours trying to get rid of a costume that I woke up in. Six hours. Every ritual, every magic spell I could think of, every book I had from the library. Nothing. You know what worked? Eating bittersweet baking chips out of the refrigerator in frustration. The hell is wrong with you, Atlantis.

I should be disturbed that Atlantis knew about this news before we officially announced it, but I can’t be disappointed by the large gift basket or the gift of a house we do not have to share with anyone else. I believe our former roommates will be thankful, as well, that they will not have to endure our honeymoon phase.

For those we have not managed to tell, yet, I’m happy to officially announce that I’ve asked Mara to marry me and she has said yes.

Now that we've made it past Halloween, this snowstorm is only making me want to get the Christmas decorations out early. I love fall and Thanksgiving, but come on, Atlantis.

I'm at least starting up the holiday drinks at work this week. Come get your peppermint mochas with quiet Christmas music playing all over the store.

One of the things I loved about New York was that there was always something to do, but it looks like Atlantis rivals it for things to do and weird shit going on. I’m impressed. I’ll take turning into a hot old lady for a day over some of the other shit we dealt with.

I’m not sure what possessed me to put on such strange clothing today. I suppose it is one of those strange Atlantis impulses that will soon pass.

I don't consider myself a slppy person by any means. I'm not the tidiest person in the world but today it's ridiculous. I have been cleaning everything. My room is spotless, I cleaned all the public rooms in the house, don't worry house mates I didn't go into your bedrooms although I wanted to, and when I got to work I cleaned the office twice.

I have no idea what's wrong with me but I hope it's doesn't last too long but I'll be exhausted if this keeps up.

Why does that resonate so strongly with me? I've been meditating on it all day without any resolution.

I don't even know what kyber is. Or rather I feel like I ought to know what it is, like the meaning is on the tip of my tongue but I can't quite remember.

"It seemed like a good idea at the time" are words to make a firefighter cringe. A floating campfire might seem like a good idea in a movie, but don't try to build one without proper experienced supervision.

It's all fun and games until someone falls in the lake.
