[In the aftermath of the Marauder invasion there are, of course, countless stories and reports circulating around the heroes involved. But as days pass the focus shifts to one in particular, taking the spotlight while the others seem to fade away. It begins a newspaper article here, a mention on the internet there, building momentum until media outlets are buzzing and it seems
everyone is talking about the hero of the hour.
The Man who Saved Spider-Man, the papers proclaim. The story of how a man in green armor came to the rescue of the webslinger is rehashed over and over, bolstered by pictures of the man defending Spider-Man from attacking Marauders and even working
with him to take down one of the ships. Grainy video footage surfaces as well, and goes viral almost instantly. Eyewitnesses pop up like weeds to tell their own version of events and all insist that the armored man, without a doubt, saved Spider-Man's life.
Inevitably, the coverage turns to speculation about the man's identity. Is he an Avenger? Does he work solo? Various other footage and witness statements place him in other parts of the city, assisting, but his identity remains a mystery.
That is, until a
spark begins on the internet. An anonymous source on a forum names Norman Osborn as the armored man, and from there the discussion blazes like a wildfire.
Could the Oscorp CEO be New York's newest hero? Some say yes, others dismiss it as nonsense, but the speculation just won't die. Meanwhile Osborn himself is, of course, unavailable for comment.]
