I forgot Liz's birthday (everyone act surprised). Quick, one of you help me figure out a thoughtful gift before lunchtime.

After three months, I can safely say that I have officially moved into my new home. Unpacked the last box on the weekend. It is a good feeling.

I'm going to check out the Friendship Bracelet making thing going on today. Yeah, I know. I go every time it's on and have a large collection already but I need another one. Who wants to come with me?

It's amazing what tourists will think is possible. No, I will not let you gallop down a mountain. This is not the movies. Now, if I see you ride and think you can handle your horse, I might let you canter across a field.

All that being said, it's always a joy to watch their jaw drops when you take them up to a scenic overlook and just let them drink in the majesty of the Rockies.

Rafting trips with families are always either the best or the worst. I've had some that seriously made me consider the ethics of just leaving them in a canyon somewhere. But today was a "best" one - even the teenagers were cool, and usually teenagers just look sad that there's no wifi on the river. These kids were polite, actually had interesting questions to ask, and had heard of music that isn't on pop radio - and didn't have to be told more than once how to pronounce my name.

Good news: all Dad's employees have now been paid all the money they were owed by Lousy Cousin Ambrose, and the lawyers in New York are handing everything they can find over to the DA's office in hopes of sending Lousy Cousin Ambrose to prison for fraud and tax evasion.

Speaking of lawyers...this all set up and can't be undone now, so I'll go ahead and tell you: I set up a trust fund for Tim, which he'll get when he turns 18. It'll pay for college anywhere he wants to go, even if the cost of tuition keeps going up.

As much as I'm sad to see summer and the warm weather start to end over the next month or two, I'm an in-between seasons girl. Bring on the fall. Crisp mornings and comfortable afternoons. And the leaves. I'll never get tired of driving through and looking at the autumn colors.

I just usually need a trusty passenger in the next seat to make sure I don't drive off a cliff. Of just put me in the passenger seat and call it a day.

I got off work in time to watch the diving contest. It was pretty good. Congratulations to the winner. Now, I think it's time for some take out and movies until I crash for tomorrow. Scarlett, you want anything particular or will the usual "anything" do?

Today was the Mondayest of Mondays. First, found about a dozen books in the YA section with penises drawn in the margins. Congratulations, you know anatomy.

Then I had to call the cops on a day drunk tourist who thought our entrance was a urinal. Way more than I wanted to see of him.

On the plus side, I got to see a few of the friendly cops and now I get to go home to the best guy in the world.

So... tried my hand at the rock climbing wall today. Could have gone better... but at least someone caught me.

First day of band camp is in the books and so far there are no petitions from the Band Parents Club trying to get me fired. This is progress because last year they already had one going around before it even started. I guess making the field show a tribute to heavy metal featuring Metallica, Judas Priest and AC/DC music wasn't a good idea.

Which is why this year, we're doing disco music. It's gonna be awesome.

Looks like diving really isn't my strong suit. Or maybe I was distracted. Either way well done to those that beat me.
