log: marina & russ

Who: Marina & Russ & Nathan
What: Russ drops by to take Nathan out.
Where: Marina's place in Gotham.
When: Recentlyish.
Warnings: Attitude.

Marina’s place always smelled like perfume, cigarettes and spice, and the inhale of breath put this visit the same place as all the other times, familiar right down to the first time he’d smelled it. Boots over hardwood, and he glanced at the TV, new and far too fucking good for someone who did god knows what everyday: stolen, probably. )

[News: Marvel]

[Tuesday, September 30th, after some feature segments, none other than Steve Rogers, Captain America himself, joins hosts on ABC's daily television program, Good Morning America, bringing in some of the highest Nielsen ratings in nearly 20 years.

The topics discussed remain benign, ranging from questions from children brought in special to the audience, most sporting pint-sized shields emblazoned in red, white, and blue, to talk about the progress of cleanup in the City. Captain Rogers appears as he ever does, modest, somewhat walled off, but kind—"a man of his generation," as the hosts mention at least three times as he smiles at his shoes. He does better here than he did his last interview, to be sure.

The highlight, however, of the broadcast, is when a group of women, white-haired, in their 80s, are brought up in a group, giggling like school girls, to meet the man they so idolized in their youths. There are references to the War, to times long past, and a more pervasive sense of warmth from the Captain himself.

When the show ends, paparazzi and fans gather outside of Times Square Studios for autographs and photos.

That evening, a series of photographs, simple, of Rogers in his blue shirt, hits Tumblr hard and fast. There's a Buzzfeed post that philosophizes on the state of the Captain's hair, on his hands.—On the less light-hearted end of the scale, critical editorials hit publications big and small, asking if the Captain doesn't have more important things to be doing, than wooing old women and playing with children. The state of New York, still in near-ruins after the most recent decimation by infection, is brought up as an almost personal failing on the part of 'the kid from Brooklyn.' Questions about FEMA and the CDC stations still set up on streets all over are lobbed, circulated, and commenters urge the Captain to answer them, since he has so much time on his hands these days.

But overall, the reception is good. The photoset circulated being those photographs shown below.]

Hi there. Okay, so, wow. Looks like you were right. We are all from different times or something somehow.

Anyway, guess I'm asking for your help, but it seems pretty weird still that you know all about us and we don't know much about you. Or have even met. If I told you that I'm from just after our fight with the mayor, what could you tell me about the others? Spike is saying something to me about someone named Kennedy. That name ring a bell to you?
