[Neil didn't go back through to Gotham, not just yet. When he wasn't in the Pirates door he was wandering the hotel, or ducking into doors at random, all on his own since Sam had never showed. He wanted to find someplace normal or relatively thereabouts, just in case, since Gotham was risky and he couldn't spend the rest of his life on a pirate ship, tempting as that sometimes seemed. Sea and sun and booze, but once he'd found the door it was easy enough to go back and forth and he'd managed to stay sober remarkably well.

Clothes he'd borrowed from another door. Well, 'borrowed' as in 'stole without the intention to give them back', but hey, semantics. Maggie said she'd needed clothes, so he got her clothes. And he was trying really, really hard not to think about why she didn't have clothes of her own, or why she'd warned him not to freak out. Success varied. It was a brother thing, that protectiveness, and he knew he probably wasn't going to like whatever had happened to her.

Tucked under his arm, in a bundle, were her clothes, and he walked out into the hotel.] Maggie?

( There was no visible difference in speech or behavior as he smoked, the dose of opium a little too light on the tobacco for that, but his dark lashes grew heavier, and he leaned closer to her at every point of contact, as if for additional warmth. The hand wandered freely up and down her leg. )

[Tony woke up a few times, never for more than a few seconds at a time, and the strange kaleidoscope of images, foreign faces suffused with gold light, solid stone and fine fabrics, were so absurd that he wouldn't have been able to process them even if he'd had the ability. Something instinctual reassured him that he was not in danger, and though Tony associated clean steel and blue light with safety, this place was far from the cave and its pain-streaked glimpses of bare bulbs and the glint of Yinsen's glasses.

An age went by, or a few seconds, or both.

When Tony's eyes stayed open long enough for him to focus them, he let awareness come slowly. He remembered the pain in his chest, and slowly remembered the hospital, though clear memory was not quick in returning. Though there was discomfort, Tony didn't feel the searing, crushing agony he was unthinkingly anticipating, and he finally managed to take a breath and look around.]

I need it back but he won't give it back he has to give it back now she needs me to get it back I never should have sold it!!!!
