I've seen a few questions on the network about this place, and if this is the original Derleth. The answer to that is no, this is not the Derleth where the network was created and we were "attached" to this place. This is an extremely similar situation, but that was a much bigger town and campus. I remember it pretty clearly from the week I was there.

It seems that there is another campus out and about, like ours, with alternate versions of ourselves there. That means that there was someone who lived here who looked like you, and they've been missing for a year. We have a set time to stock up on items we need, so I'm not going to ask you all to stay on campus. What I am going to ask you to do is keep a very low profile. Don't use your real name. If someone recognizes you, tell them they have to be mistaken and then get out of that situation. Call me if you need to. I'm great at escapes.

If there's anyone in the science fields who would like to assist Professor Sanchez and his granddaughter on locating their Derleth, please let me know. They meant to get their Derleth back, and somehow managed to snag ours. That's not their fault, and if we can help, we should.

You know the usual drill on stocking up. Clothing, bedding, housewares, alcohol, food stuffs.

Okay. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I give up: the coffee pot wins. I normally love this coffee, but not like this. Not like this.

I've tried spells, lids, giving free cups to the whole damn classroom, drinking the entire thing myself, smashing it on the floor, throwing it out the window, pleading with it in every language I know and some I don't, but it keeps reappearing in the teacher's lounge and it won't. stop. refilling. If anyone thinks they can help me keep up with emptying it before it can overflow, please do. It's the huge coffee pot with the vines growing on the sides.

Uh, sorry if any of us is stuck on cleanup. You're gonna need a lot of wet floor signs.

I am probably not alone in this. I just had an unnerving experience.

On the medical front, while we're talking about weird things. We've discovered that the patients here, aren't really sick. The local Doctors and staff are assuring us their patients are sick, we check the charts, and everything lines up.

That is until we run tests ourselves, no one here is actually sick and we've discovered that they are being given placebos and sugar pills.

Maybe a little murderous. But just in the fictional way.

I want to rethink Mobius's work.

Before, he went through data attempting to find a timeline we could anchor ourselves to. It limited when we could attempt the jump and I think may have been why we still reset. That's not mentioning the issues a majority of us had remembering who we were.

I say we make our own timeline. We still have all the research necessary, but I was looking at the metamath, and I think this could be much more feasible without the drawbacks of attempt number one.

So if those of you who worked with Mobius are willing to work with me on this, let me know.

As a rule I'm not overly fond of camping. I enjoy it even less when someone forgets to pack the food and we accidentally end up in the middle of cannibal country. Let's not do that again.

The team who've been working to stabilise things, have they also been keeping detailed records about the worlds we've visited?

Well, I was hoping we'd have found a decent water source by now, but since we're still limping along it's probably prudent to mention I do have my magical coffee flask from a couple of months ago. Coffee's hardly ideal and I have no idea whether there's a limit as to how much will come out of it but we're not exactly in a position to be picky when it comes to keeping sixty-odd people hydrated for another half week.

This week's a huge deviation from the norm in some aspects.

» For most of us, it seems, we're in a world that I'm assuming has been decimated by a zombie apocalypse. We have no water or electricity. The kitchens and clinic have been raided. Even the theater's been picked over for clothing. We are not on the usual Derleth campus. The Green is an overgrown lawn, and the rest of Derleth spreads out from these buildings. Reminiscent of a few other alternate Derleths with full campuses.

» For some, they are on our "normal" campus in the void.

» We can communicate between the two through the network, but that seems to be it at the moment. I would recommend being prepared in case Derleth throws a trick at us and spits one campus into the other, with bonus zombies. It may not happen, but we also haven't had split Derleth's like this so I would be prepared for anything. UPDATE: The TVs on the void campus are showing those of us in the zombie world.

» Butler Hall has returned to what it was when I first arrived: regular dormitories, two people to a room. This could be because we're not on our usual campus. Has anyone tested the wards on the rooms? They weren't working last week. UPDATE: THEY ARE DOWN.

» The zombies, or undead, are shambling so they're slow, but we don't know the layout of this area, so I wouldn't suggest going anywhere alone. You could easily get backed into a corner with a whole bunch of zombies. Most zombie lore says they like to eat human flesh. Need to assess the zombies more.

» Magic appears to be on the fritz. So so super powers for some. If you're experiencing this, please let me know.

» One of the Lokis has been missing since the night of the reset. He was not among our people who turned to stone and didn't return from the ball.

I'm asking you all to please not go outside alone, and do not go without some kind of weaponry. Make the least amount of noise you can, and check in with people often.

I do not have a lot of money, contrary to previous history. The apartment/office I could afford was a tiny place off the pier in the run-downingest part of town (shush, that's a word now). But somehow... two normal sized futons fit in this living room. Without touching. I SWEAR that wasn't this much room. I MEASURED IT. How do you measure things wrong?

But in case you're all real, what's going on? Did I die? Is that what happened? All that time I spend doing things to make sure the way I go is really cool and... what, did I space out with headphones in and step in front of a taxi? I die and end up at a frat party. Based on my exploration outside the valley and what other people have described I've come up with a map showing the area to hopefully help anyone still trying to find the place.



I personally think the north-eastern entrance is the easiest to find - if you look carefully among the trees you can see the beginnings of the path where the vegetation on the ground has stopped growing. It might be worth some of us cutting the trees there down to make it more visible, especially since we'll need the wood anyway to improve our shelter. I'm also wondering if we should prioritise putting some kind of gate up on each entrance to keep the nastier things out, but it would need to be pretty sturdy and made of stone at the least. At least the bizarrely simplified version of building things we have here doesn't seem to allow for poor construction quality. It's just all either there or it's not.

I haven't heard anyone mention finding the Derleth campus, so I'm going out on a limb and assuming that we may not find one. And if we do, it may not be in a condition that will sustain us. We should consider that we're going to have to make our own shelter, but I'd like to suggest that we don't do this alone.

It might be easy to make fabric and clothing, weapons, but if we pool our resources, I bet we can build better things to house us all. Something stronger. We can protect each other, make patrols for the creatures so we're not blindly being killed an reset.

I've found an area that seems to relatively safe, compared to the other places I've been traveling here. It's a valley, hidden by trees and hills. There's a lake in the center of it. If we're going by Earth direction, I'd say it's northeast and directly east of the largest frozen mountain I could find. Hopefully that gives you somewhere to go. I think we should all convene here if we can. There is safety in numbers here, and I want us to have our best chance.

Alright, somethings I have discovered. Would possibly be the same for the rest of you.

I died. My light beam attracted a large creature. I only know this because as someone had indicated earlier, it felt like losing consciousness and waking up later. And I only know I died for sure because I stumbled upon my own body while trying to get back to wherever I had thought I had come from.

So, yes, I suppose you do die but it's not permanent although you do lose everything including your clothes.

I will be a little more cautious but I'm putting up my light beam again.

Well, this is all wrong. Literally, almost all of it, not least of all the fact that I am currently standing underneath a partially collapsed but clearly man-made stone arch and have seen at least five different species that absolutely never co-existed.
