FILTERED AWAY FROM THE LOCALS:

I've seen a few questions on the network about this place, and if this is the original Derleth. The answer to that is no, this is not the Derleth where the network was created and we were "attached" to this place. This is an extremely similar situation, but that was a much bigger town and campus. I remember it pretty clearly from the week I was there.

It seems that there is another campus out and about, like ours, with alternate versions of ourselves there. That means that there was someone who lived here who looked like you, and they've been missing for a year. We have a set time to stock up on items we need, so I'm not going to ask you all to stay on campus. What I am going to ask you to do is keep a very low profile. Don't use your real name. If someone recognizes you, tell them they have to be mistaken and then get out of that situation. Call me if you need to. I'm great at escapes.

If there's anyone in the science fields who would like to assist Professor Sanchez and his granddaughter on locating their Derleth, please let me know. They meant to get their Derleth back, and somehow managed to snag ours. That's not their fault, and if we can help, we should.

You know the usual drill on stocking up. Clothing, bedding, housewares, alcohol, food stuffs.

In my world, when a woman is cut off from the Source, no longer able to channel, we call it being Stilled. An unpleasant fate. It's most often a result of drawing too much of the Power, and more rarely, a punishment. Every young woman known to have the ability is cautioned against it.

I don't believe what I experienced this past week was entirely similar. The sense of loss was not so great it could not be overcome. But it was no less unsettling for it.

It's been less than two days. Be extra careful. Whether he comes back or not, we don't know how this works.

I hope you all like horses and dirt. Seems like we're in a small settlement in the old west called Sweetwater. Few people out late at night, but they're coming around this morning. Most of them seem pretty polite, but there appears to be an outlaw around these parts called Hector Escaton. He's got a gang, so I'd be concerned about that.

More importantly, I don't seem to have my super strength anymore. Anyone else having that issue?

Welcome to the jungle Derleth if you haven't been here before. Sorry about the dorm arrangements, we have no control over that. You can sleep where you want most of the time but every reset you'll end up back where you are now. Yes, there's a big void outside the campus. This happens every second week. You can try walking into it but distance doesn't really seem to be a concept that exists in there and it's really unnerving. There might be something living in there, or maybe just Your eyes play tricks on you a bit. The forest's decent though and there's some animals living in there.

Cafeteria's downstairs, you can handle your own meals but occasionally someone will turn up and start cooking, which is usually better, especially since the kitchen's designed for big batch cooking. If no extra clothes came back here with you there's supplies in Peaslee Theatre.

I've been at work in my auction house, and since we're probably due to leave soon, I thought I'd open my stores for anyone who wants to own a historical, multi-million dollar weapon or artifact.

If you haven't wandered through City Park, you might not have seen the carousel there that I own and run. The detail is amazing from an artistic/craftsman point of view. Although one of the horses is broken, the rest are in great condition and it goes fairly fast. Also, it's got the traditional brass/iron ring game which is harder than it seems, but still fun. If you're looking for a way to spend an afternoon, feel free to come on by. There might also be snacks.


Speaking of food, the cast party after the play last week seemed like a good time and since this week has alternating levels of weird and creepy, maybe a party at week's end wouldn't be a bad idea? I'm happy to help with food - as I'm sure others are - if other folks will take care of games and music.

On the medical front, while we're talking about weird things. We've discovered that the patients here, aren't really sick. The local Doctors and staff are assuring us their patients are sick, we check the charts, and everything lines up.

That is until we run tests ourselves, no one here is actually sick and we've discovered that they are being given placebos and sugar pills.

Also, we've got a few more days here and since we don't know what next week will bring, I thought I'd take requests for meals. (And let you know what I have planned so far.)

a small paper bag containing a cat toy sized robot ladybug (think spider-bot but ladybug) that when activated will skitter around and fly. Has some degree of learning capability so as to keep play new and interesting (but hopefully not enough for the ladybug to try and overthrow society). Ben went for movement considering he has no idea where you'd even find catnip here. Note attached says 'An offering for the feline overlord's continued training. Whether that's the bag or what's in it. 🕷Ben

a baggie of homemade skittles with 'Taste the Rainbow' written on the outside. They're a bit bigger than the normal kind and the coating isn't perfect, but he tried. The colors and flavorings are also limited to whatever coloring, artificial flavoring, and frozen fruit he could find in the kitchen.

As Natasha and Eliot have both mentioned, Mobius was heading up the work to try to create a stable place for our Derleth, and fortunately he made certain that we had duplicates of all of his work. I've met with some of you already this week, but I know several others have expressed interest in helping, and it seemed prudent to set out goals:

• DATA RESEARCH. We have data collected. This includes items that have arrived from our home timelines, the timelines that we've visited with Derleth, and in some cases our own mental & temporal energies. We're looking for connections and clues, answers that may help magic and science with what they're doing. If you are good with sorting and finding patterns, this is the place for you.

Kira... everybody... thanks for your concern. I'm alright. Really. It was a little bit between a nightmare and a memory update, and while it was intense at the time, it's okay. This is what? My third update. I know how to handle it. Hell, I've been through worse situations during our weekly outings.

You'll also notice that the Cloak of Levitation also has an updated look. Cloak is doing fine, too.

I'm Christine Chapel, Nurse Chapel if I'm seeing you in a more medical setting but I won't punish you if you stick with Christine. Formally employed on the Enterprise, but I'm always excited to try on new challenges. Though without the equipment I'm used to, this could be an interesting hurdle, but I have some knowledge of Archaeological Medicine, and if any of you are more familiar, I'd love to pick your brain.

I've been to quite a few planets in my lifetime, but this? This does not look like any of them. Did I not make it out of the Geth Consensus?

Since the kitchen & the pantry are stocked, you'll find me in the kitchen (at least for breakfast & dinner most days). Many hands make light work, so if you like to cook, I'd love company. If you just want to taste whatever we come up with, that's fine too. If you've never cooked or can't even boil water, I'll be happy to teach you. There's always prep work and dishes.

Okay, so Loki and I took a jog around campus this morning. Everything seems to be normal void behavior at the moment. Nothing's overly large, we both have our memories, and the magical sky the other Loki made is still out. Somehow even more serene. Kitchens are stocked as usual (even has some of the fresh veg and fruits we snagged in Los Angeles, it seems), the pool's back to the way Strange made it, and the Green is full of its interesting creatures. And the squirrels.

All in all, it's pretty nice out after the last two weeks.

Now, that's not to say that something won't happen. We all know that things have happened at various points during void weeks, so just be aware that it's possible something will happen. At this point, it's almost a guarantee.

I'd like to propose something. Some of us have been in Derleth a long time in Derleth standards. I think it's time we take Strange's idea and expand on it. Keyleth's help last week with growing the vegetables and fruit for the survivors made me think this is something we should do here. I'm going to be taking out some trees and planting some various seeds. Keyleth, I was hoping you'd be interested in helping me test to see if it'll stick around after the next reset. If it does, we can expand the area a bit for a variety of things.

On the subject of Mobius's disappearance: You all know that Mobius and Eliot were working on a way to get a stable place for us. Mobius has disappeared, but his work is still here. Anyone with science knowledge would be helpful in looking over his notes and seeing what we can do to keep that going. Stability is something we take for granted, so I'd like to get back on track with that.

And finally, I'd like to work on the campus a bit. Maybe do some repairs on buildings, like the Greenhouse. The windows are busted there, and I'd like to keep the orchids and elf weed there. Whatever needs a hot house. I'm not really a plant expert, so if you have any experience, I'd love a few volunteers.

And thirdly, if this is your first time at the "real" Derleth, welcome home.
