So, I've acquired an Undead Bane (the fucking irony). And it's pretty adamant
about killing any and all undead things.I know this because it's also telepathic and told me.

Anyone else get a talking inanimate object?

week 33 (freaky friday); day one

In all honesty, I'm going to miss last week like something fierce. Having whole audiences in the taverns every evening because I somehow happened to have the skill and inspiration enough to write whole songs on the whim and actually have a noteworthy singing voice?

Damn all of that was hella addictive.

Speaking of addictive, so happy I ended up with a decanter of endless coffee. Call me jittery for life.

I have found the secret magical glen of my one-horned people. If you never see me again it’s because I’ve decided to stay and become the Unicorn King. Best wishes to you all.

The library connection is paying off. I've managed to purchase a collection of unidentified books from someone clearing out their uncle's things and I imagine that's what I'll be going through for the rest of the week, though I'd like to take another pass through the marketplace as well. Hopefully there's something worthwhile in here, but honestly even if they're all rather mundane textbooks they'll probably be interesting enough given how different this world is to mine. If it was up to me I might well keep them all. I suppose we'll see what happens.

From what I can tell there are several magical items I can create, potentially once a day(? will need more experimenting to figure out exactly), that could be very useful if you're planning to go into the ruins. Mostly armor improvements and a couple of utility items like boots that allow you to fly and bags of holding.

I would recommend caution when purchasing, finding or using magical items; most will come with certain drawbacks in terms of either speed, stamina, strength or usage, or are cursed in a variety of ways. If this is common sense, then by all means, disregard my warning.

dungeons & dragons - day 2

Hi everyone - just wanted to check in and see how you were all doing. Also see if anyone's in an adventuring kind of mood?

I've been listening around, doing some snooping for anything that may be relevant to our timeline research interests - and it seems like the merchants have a lot of info about various doo-dads that pique my curiosity. I don't have exact details but I've heard rumors about something called the Book of Time, basically a whole bunch of chronomancer knowledge and spells we want to get our hands on. If anyone would be up for tracking this book down, I think it'd really help us.

There's also a ring I heard rumblings about too - it's a ring that allows you to store spells in it to use at any point and since breaking the timeloop is going to require a combo of magic and science/tech (or at least that's been my guess, and the path we're currently on) we're going to need helpful supplies like that too.

My dearest friend,

Welcome to Derleth.

I am so sorry I could not be there to greet you myself, but I trust you'll find your way around soon enough. Most of the students have not yet arrived for the new semester and so I've arranged for [your?] lodging on campus. You'll find a key in your pocket. Just like old times, eh?

Should the experiment go as planned, for one week we will be able to displace time and space itself. I believe with my calculations we will be able to control the effects and no one shall be the wiser. To anyone not directly involved it will be imperceptible.

Feel free to wander the campus in the meantime. We'll begin the experiment at [muffled] Hall, on Thursday, precisely at midnight.

We'll show them, won't we?

Un Sacrificium Parvis ob Adagnitio.
