I know we're all curious about the giant monolith sitting in the rubble of Carter Hall. I know people are joking about touching it.

Please don't.

Like everything here, we have no idea what those consequences are. I've looked at it. I could not find any cracks or doors or anything to suggest there's a way in. I'd prefer that we don't push it.

I'm going to block off the area with tape. If you go under or around it, the consequences are yours to deal with. We're in the void where we have limited supplies, limited doctors and healers, so please think of that before you do anything.

Are we done yet? This place is meant to magically reset, right? I mean, that sounds a little crazy but you all seem pretty sure that it's going to.

Will it smell better then too? Because let me tell you, this place stinks and I mean literally stinks. Apart from the fact that not being able to do anything or go anywhere or find alcohol sucks, or the fact that my really intense roommate named Rey seems like she wants to strangle me every time I accidentally make the slightest bit of noise or accidentally close my door too loudly.

And really! What college dorm doesn't have alcohol stashed everywhere? Not just in the hiding spots but in the decoy hiding spots so when your jerk of an ex-boyfriend tells your RA that you have vodka in your room, she finds the cheap shit and takes that and not your good stuff?

Are we going to remember any of this? Because it would suck if I had to find out I'm in this random, terrible place all over again. Finding out there's such things as talking raccoons again would be fun though.

Does anyone have any ibuprofen or pain killers of some kind?

So. I don't know when I'll be back on campus. But! But I'm not hurt or anything.

I've been out exploring in my astral body. For those who don't know, astral projection, in layman's terms, is separating my spirit from my material body and traveling around like a ghost, silent, invisible. For the past couple of days I've been going out further and further and I can tell you right now the situation is pretty bleak. I found some newspapers, and while I couldn't bring them back, I can sum up what I read.

Eighty nine days ago, a large meteorite came toward Earth, breaking apart in the atmosphere. In some places, like Mexico, the impact was likened to that of an atomic bomb. The attacks began immediately afterward, and spread quickly. The United States military tried to take them on, but between the aliens' impenetrable hides, their speed, and their ability to disrupt electric fields, they failed. Evidently, "large" explosions kill them, but the articles I read didn't describe how large.

The aliens have left nothing but slaughter in their wake. I haven't seen any evidence of human life so far. That doesn't mean there aren't any hiding. I've been looking for a place where we might be able to go that is safe, free from the aliens, but they're everywhere, some places having more concentrations than others. I'm still looking, but I can't astral project for extended periods of time without it being a danger to me.

Hate to say it, but considering the wards placed on Butler Hall is effective at keeping the aliens out, our best bet is to wait it out here the best we can until the end of the week.

I went out this morning to check those things out. Doesn’t look like it will be easy to penetrate whatever their exterior is made of, but I was thinking maybe we can try scanning them to look for weak spots. Is anyone already working on this?

Or point me in the direction of someone who’s working on it if this is already a thing.

So I managed to get some photographs. I don't see any eyes or damage despite the fact that this thing was throwing itself against the building.

Has anyone ventured out yet? I think we need a coordinated effort here. Back home, I've lead a team that explores new, potentially hostile planets on a regular basis. I think a few of us should try to see what exactly we're dealing with while everyone else stays in the dorm.
