Really? An island of bloody tarantulas? Having a grand old time, picking up coconuts and chopping trees. Went to climb the side of a cliff, and as soon as I get there, there's a bloody tarantula. Barely even finished climbing. Wilbur helped me up again, but I didn't realize it was a whole damn island of them until there were three of them coming at me. Backed me into a corner..

ALL THREE OF THEM STUNG ME.

Then I wake up in a goo bath, some machine comes along and rips a bunch of plugs out of me, and shoots me into the bin.

What the hell kind of place is this? (And yes, I KNOW what they said. And I believe them. It's more of an expression of exasperation.)

You guys, something amazing just happened!

I saved up some miles to go on an island tour with Kapp'n. We went out on his little boat, and as we were sailing, the sky turned dark. I was scared at first but when we got to the mystery island, there were star fragments all over the beach and sky was full of meteor showers and it was the most beautiful place I'd ever seen.

I think I wished on almost thirty shooting stars. It just felt magical, you know? I hope I'll find that island again some day. It reminded me of a song, I think. Maybe if I hum it for Isabelle, she'll know it.

Welcome to another week in the life of a dystopian underground society held together by the fear of technological subjugation and sticky oatmeal paste. For the optimists out there looking to celebrate the little things, my eyebrows have mostly returned. For those of you thinking about doing something crazy—like inserting yourself back into the two-dimensional hellscape of potato people—this is your reminder that we have now gone four weeks without a reset. If you get injured or you die, there aren’t any guarantees anyone will be able to help you.

And for those of you who participated in the mission last week—I know we kind of bungled taking out that harvester machine thing, but we did “rescue” a few people. So, well done. Thumbs up for that.

So.

I know a giant murderous marshmallow of a robot just tried to re-insert us all into the program.

I also know that anyone claiming to have a solution to the whole "getting stuck in the program" thing is highly suspicious, especially if it's someone you don't remember from before.

With all that in mind, hi. I have a (theoretical) way to get back into the program and out again, and I need people with the appropriate ports and mental stability to experiment um... experiment on. I'm trying to make it safe as possible...

If you're interested, please let me know. I know we lost some people today and I want to help get them back. Also if any of you happen to be engineers, physicists or other types of inventors, I've got the schematics for the prototype chair that I'm about 90% sure will work.

ATTACK OF THE MACHINES | Animatrix Week


THE BAIT
A familiar, friendly health care companion has been traded between the human ships. Calling himself Baymax, he was reportedly scavanged and built in order to help humans as a robotic nurse. He is trusted, does no harm, and has been an ally and companion for months now.

THE REVEAL
Machines really can't be trusted. Baymax has been serving his AI overlords all this time, his huggable appearance hiding his sinister goals to return the 'saved' humans back to the Matrix where they belong.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
If your character has escaped the Matrix, but you want them to go back in, Baymax will sedate them, and a machine will scoop them up and return them to the Matrix. If you have not been in the Matrix, but want to go, this can now happen. If you are out and want to stay out, take out the marshmallow bot! His red armor and vinyl body are resistant to that EMP, so you better get creative!
