There is YouTube Yelena!
I told Eliot I'd help him with food shopping, so can you watch Shadow? But after maybe we could go find the nearest Target and pick up some of those things on our list?
About the sword.
Vax and I had thrown some ideas around since it stuck with me, and so far nothing has really seemed to work. The week we were in Irkalla I just had it. That week it was easy to attune to it and that week, it very much felt like it belonged to me and that we were connected. I wasn't (fortunately) in a lot of places where I needed to use it, or do anything with it, but I think it has a fair amount of power.
Since I've come back, I've not been able to attune to it. It works really well as a sword, but I don't know if it's just that I'm not a half-elf (I was that week), or that I'm not magical, or if there's something else. Or maybe it only had those properties in Irkalla, but I don't think that's it.
Anyway, that week when we were all getting visions of like other lives, there was one where Vax and I were on a quest together - the sword was a family sword, it had been lost and I was looking to retrieve it and bring it back to my Father. I can add more about that, but it feels like it might be relevant.
Never really had an audience before running a D&D session. Same time next week, apocalypses permitting? It'll be another one shot, so anyone available is free to join or watch. You can bring the same character as before or make a new one.
So ladies, some of you may have seen Steve around campus. Solid guy, cool hair, good person to know when shit goes down. The guy is terrified of asking any of you on a date. It's sweet, really. Pretty sure he's worried one of you will eat him alive. But honestly? He could usethata nice night. Nothing heavy, no commitment required. If you're interested in a low key evening with a solid dude, hit me up.
I'm going to come find you. I'm bringing chocolate, ice cream, and coffee. Are you at the clinic?
We are not talking about my hair. It'll be back next weekor I don't know
I'm angry with you. Just so you know.
I refuse to go on the Internet before coffee. Please tell me they've moved on to something else and that no one has tried to yell at you for dating a married woman because they thought you were me?
I'm pretty certain I found the script for the film that I'm supposed to attend a premiere for tonight.
Yelena, did you still want to come with me?
Eliot, if you come help me decide what to wear, you've got free range of the bar cart and I'll order in whatever you want for dinner.
Will it go off perfectly without a hitch? Will it have a few mishaps and wobbles? Will the audience cheer anyway? Or will there be tomatoes involved? Only time (& the comments below) will tell.
And hey, we made it through this week, didn't lose any additional cast members, the ones that just got cast before the Zombie apocalypse did great, and now it is time for the party! Everyone - cast, crew, and all of Derleth - is welcome to hang out, drink food and eat appetizers and dance until the reset.
Hugh has his laptop which does have a 🎶 Dance Mix 🎶 with a lot of pop from the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s, but he'll add anything that anyone else has that they want to play, or any requests that he has in his collection.
The stage is open for dancing, the food and drink is in the lobby, and everyone is welcome to hang out for a short period of time, or all the way up to reset.
Hey, so... you know how they say that people get updates from back home here?DUSTIN HENDERSON & ELEVEN:
I got an update back home.
What's the last thing you remember?HUGH CHRISTIAN:
I have a question to ask you.[There WILL BE Stranger Things, season 4 finale spoilers in the comments.]
In the very early morning on day 2 (or was it in the very late night?) bulletin boards in Butler and the cafeteria but also elsewhere on campus will have notices for Much Ado About Nothing by the Derleth University Company taking place at the Peaslee Theatre at 7pm on the Seventh Night.
All are invited to attend both performance, and the cast party after.
Hope you got my note about taking over your thing. ♥
It is really good to have all of the cast and crew in the same Derleth again. And with that in mind, please officially welcome our newest cast members and new castings:
- Robin will be replacing Richie as Borachio
- As understudy, Allison will now be Hero after Rita’s departure
- Luz will be replacing Allison as Margaret
- And Thor will be covering Messenger One’s lines
Additionally, Steve, Chris, and Silena will be assisting with set design, construction, make-up and costumes.
The good news is that all of the things that we did during the week in 1945 are still present, that means the costumes we picked up, the set pieces, everything is still in Peaslee Theatre. For those of you who weren’t there in that week, we did pick up clothing for the costume room generally, so there’s a good chance you’ll find something that we can use for costumes.
The other good news is that we have not lost any additional cast members. With this being a rest week, I am proposing that we aim for a performance at the end of the week. We’ll rehearse daily, afternoons and evenings and I’ll work up a more detailed scene rehearsal list for the first three days, and we’ll run full performances (hopefully twice through) on the fifth and sixth days with performance on the final night and maybe we’ll invite everyone to the cast party afterwards, cause I’m with Allison, we need more parties.
Questions, thoughts, concerns? I’m thinking we should start tomorrow afternoon.
You survived last week?
How do you feel about having a Shadow this week?
I'm going to go over to the lab and check on if there's anything of Dad's that isn't related to the research that we might want to hold onto. Do you want to come with me?
Are you fucking serious?
Do you have veterinary experience?
Any change in the magic department?
Do you want to talk about things?
Your girlfriend is still annoying everyone about not being able to find you. So if you're not either dead or Sleeping Beauty-ing it up, we're all going to be really peeved. [...] But don't be like zombie dead. Nobody wants to see you looking ewww and all.
Lucky.
Did you make it out okay?
So much for hoping for a quiet week for rehearsals.
In which they have a startlingly mature conversation about their lives and attachments where they're from and what that means for both of them in the context of Derleth... all while having a picnic of deli sandwiches and whiskey on the beach.
how do you feel about a slightly different role than Borachio?
This is literally why I put you in as understudy. I was afraid this would happen. You have Hero. I think I can fill Margaret between the two people who were interested when we had to recast Borachio. If you leave me I will never forgive you - So don’t even think about it.
I don’t know what the fuck made me think I could actually figure out a show here. Like how do you even do rehearsals when we’re worried about food and fairy bullshit and half my cast just leaves? Okay. Not half. I’m being dramatic. But still. It feels ridiculous to even try when things are such a mess.
[…] I think I have enough battery to fall asleep listening to Music, do you want an earbud?
