Friday: June/6/08

Who: Frankie and Nathaniel
When: Friday afternoon
Where: his room
What: saying goodbye?

It had been a rough twenty-four hours for Frankie. Despite Tiger's thoughtful gift, she was still upset and confused over where things stood with him. Then there was Nathaniel. It felt wrong leaving for the summer without saying goodbye to him, especially since he might not be back next year. What if she never saw him again? They needed more closure, and she hoped that maybe if he helped her decide what to do with her engagement ring, they'd part on better terms. It was hard to say.

Shuffling her sneakers through the halls, the sprite made her way to a room she knew quite well. There was a moment of hesitation before she knocked softly on his door. Unsure what to do with her hands after that, she shoved them into the pockets of her jean shorts.

Who: Ipsy and Nate
What: A Date! [A date?]
Where: In the park
When: Wednesday Night
Rating: PG? Probs

Ipsy was excited. More than excited. She had a date! It had been ages since she'd been out with someone, and Nate was a sweet man. She loved how soft spoken he was, how quiet and polite he was. He was old fashioned and would treat her like a lady. Well... hopefully not too much like a lady. She was still a hot blooded woman after all.

It had taken forever, but Ipsy had managed to find the perfect dress for tonight. With a sheer silver shawl around her shoulders, a hint of shimmery gold eyeshadow and perfectly lined ruby lips, Ipsy looked absolutely stunning. Her plain black heels clacked noisily across the parking garage, blue eyes seeking out her handsome date. Suddenly she spotted him, and a smile spread over her face. She picked up her pace to quickly make her way over to him. "Hello, handsome," she purred, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek (soft because she didn't want to leave a lipstick mark).

Friday, May 30

Who: Ada and Nate
What: A concert!
Where: Upscale club in Boston
When: Friday night

Ada and Nate drove into Boston just after sundown. It had been months now since she'd been onstage, and her nerves were humming with a combination of excitement and anxiousness. In less than two hours, she would be onstage alone. It wasn't the first time she'd played a solo acoustic show, but it was a rare thing for her. The security that came with having a backing band to pick up for you if you messed up was gone for the moment, and add to that she was playing in an unfamiliar city in a club she'd never seen before... she was a little on edge.

That, and there was the whole drama over worrying about whether her engagement was falling apart, but... that was a conversation for another day and probably another person, since she doubted Nate wanted to discuss romantic matters at this particular moment.

Once at the club, they went into the backstage green room while the opening band played. A bartender came back to ask if either of them wanted anything, and she ordered a club soda with lime. It wasn't that she didn't drink any more, it was just that she drank with less frequency and in a lower quantity than she used to. It made it easier to keep from falling back into life-ruining habits if she didn't lose her judgment to alcohol.

"Thanks for coming with me," she said, smiling over at Nate. "I'm kind of nervous as it is. I should have walked out front to see how many people are here, but... it's Boston. Not exactly a city where I should draw a crowd. For all I know, I'll be playing to a mostly-empty room." Which would be depressing... but at least if she screwed up, no one would know any better!

Who: Addie and Nate
What: Some distractions
Where: In Boston
When: After sunset

Addie was still trying to place this older vampire dude, and couldn't. Wouldn't be the first time she'd ever met up with someone she didn't know. But this was probably one of the most innocent cases of that. Of course, it would kill her reputation if anyone knew what she was doing. Looking out for some guy with a big hurt. She was too tough and cold for that. At least that's what she liked to think.

Leaning against her car, she waited. She hoped he wouldn't be too uncomfortable with her getup. She was wearing her usual Tripp pants and angry t-shirt combination, but that's not why he might be uncomfortable. What might be uncomfortable would be that she'd stick out like a sore thumb compared to everyone else.

Who: Nate and Mandy
What: Scientific Experimentation
Where: Science Lab
When: Thursday Morning
Rating: G

This was going to be fun. Nate was silly in his own quiet way, and even though he was older he didn't act older. But he was still mature, not like the other teenaged nitwits Mandy was used to. And he brought out the silly side of herself.

Because they were going for a James Bond theme, Mandy had actually borrowed a dress from her roommate for the occasion. It was a lot shorter than she was used to and definitely more low-cut. But Bond women were always devastatingly beautiful, even Moneypenny. She swept her hair up in a hair clip, letting a few tendrils fall to frame her face. She was even wearing pretty red heels, which were hard to walk in. But it would be worth it just to see Nate's face as he walked up to the lab and saw her dressed like a girl.

Who: Chris and Nate
Where: Their room, silly!
When: Sunday afternoon
What: Nate arrives back at to find a blonde kid in his room.

There was too. Much. Stuff!! Chris had assumed that all his clothes wouldn't really fit in a joint room and had only brought half. Despite this, they STILL wouldn't fit in his room, that was if he didn't want to sleep on his bed or have a desk for his laptop. He had no idea who his roommate was. He was far too busy throwing things in drawers, trying to make sense of his surroundings and where he was going to store the excess to bother rooting around the other person's belongings being nosey whilst he had the chance.

Three scarves and two jackets were around him as he tried to store his suitcase in the bottom of the tiny wardrobe. He looked very ruffled, puffed out and not at all the educated rich kid....

Friday 12/14/07

Who: Ava and Nate
Where: Ava's room
When: after dinner
What: demon blood sharing

Nathaniel knew that it was a bad idea for him to go to Ava for more blood, but it was difficult for him not to want to do so. This time the blood wasn't going to be tainted especially like last time so that made it better. Somewhat. The bloodlust was hard to resist and now he had the pain from a broken arm, it was even harder. Maintaining his mental discipline happened to be more of a task when he thought about what had happened in the library. Who had pushed the bookcases and why would they do that to him? Did he do something to make someone dislike him enough, and what about Ciri? Was she just an innocent potential victim?

So many questions and no way to get answers. He'd have to keep an eye out for something strange and with any luck, whoever it was wouldn't try to kill him for a little while longer. Great. Just when he thought relaxing was a possibility and things had settled with Frankie, boom! Maybe he worried too much. Yes, that was it. Before long, he found himself in front of Ava's door and knocked on it. She would find him in a plain white shirt and jeans, which had been a bitch to put on his body.

"Hey," he said when she opened the door. Seeing her increased his nervousness for some reason and made him feel like they were doing something wrong. In essence, they were because drinking blood was not a normal activity humans did and... well, he didn't know. Thoughts were jumbled and it was best he focus on the present.

Thursday 12/6/07

Who: Nathaniel and Lloyd
Where: on the school grounds near the forest
When: 2:15 am
What: Nathaniel's working on the treehouse!
OOC: Hope this is okay!

Building a treehouse at night was more difficult than Nathaniel thought. The main problem was finding enough lighting - sure, he'd bought several lanterns to hang on the branches and put on the ground and they worked fine, along with a handy big flashlight... but it was not that easy. Oh well, he would deal with that. He decided to work in the middle of the night and started on Monday to choose a tree that was a fair distance away from the school and that had good, strong branches growing mostly horizontally. Luckily, he found a tall steady tree with branches somewhat low to the ground, perfect for a children's treehouse.

Another problem was finding a child to give their input to him. Nathaniel met a young girl by chance in the library who looked at pictures of castles on Wednesday. He told her he wanted to make a treehouse and her face brightened with a huge smile. It was heartwarming to see her reaction, and he asked if she had any ideas he could use. She wanted a castle so she could play Queen and Nathaniel was happy to oblige. The two bent over a piece of paper and drew what the girl (whose name was Panpoxa) wanted, thus prompting her to ask if she could help him build it. Nathaniel doubted a girl who looked ten years old could help, but he happily accepted and as it turned out, the company was much needed.

Panpoxa liked the tree he had chosen and requested that there be an extra level so she could have a lookout tower. She happened to be an apt fetcher of things and liked to talk as Nathaniel worked. She was the daughter of two demons who worked on television commercials and they lived in the state. One of her favorite things to talk about was the Disney film Sleeping Beauty because she liked the princess and the castle featured in it. She loved seeing a lot of people at the school with wings and Nathaniel told her about Frankie having wings and the ability to create fire. Panpoxa then decided to recruit her to throw fireballs at her enemies - she had more than a little fondness for violence, he noticed.

On Thursday evening... )

Wednesday: 11/14/07

Who: Frankie and Nathaniel
When: Wednesday night
Where: Nathaniel's room
What: She's scared of a crazy vampire on the loose, and Nate totally just told her he loves her!

Frankie had been terrified the moment she heard of the attack on Shizuka. Who would do such a thing to such a sweet girl? Frankie could hardly deny that there wasn't a momentary thought in her head that asked 'was it Nathaniel?' But she shook that thought out of her head a second later. He wouldn't do that. He wouldn't hurt anyone ever again. It was an accident the first time. He was a good man, and he was in control of his bloodlust now. It made her realize how stupid her fears had been.

She realized something else important after she talked to Nathaniel through the journals. He loved her. Nathaniel LOVED her!

Frankie needed to see him immediately. She had to talk to him in person, hear him say it, and most importantly... she needed to tell him that she felt the same.

She threw a robe on over her PJs and told Kim that she was going out, then Frankie rushed off to Nathaniel's room. She knocked softly, yet urgently, on his door. The second he opened it, she jumped on him, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck and kissing his face all over. "I love you too!" she told him between kisses.

Saturday, 11/10/07

Who: Ava and Nate
When: 7:30 and onwards.
Where: in town.
What: The laser tag battle. Intensity guarenteed. Who will win?!

Nathaniel stood in the student lounge, hands in pockets, and waited for his fellow vampire to arrive. He took various things in life seriously and to some extent, games, so he intended to win. Finding a partner to play games with was a stroke of luck as he was hesitant to make more friends than he had already. As much as he disliked being a vampire, he had to admit that spending time with someone of the same kind was all right. Different. She happened to be friendlier than he thought vampires were and that was a definite plus.

Ava would have her work cut out for her with this game as he was not joking about his expertise with waterguns (closest thing to bragging he'd get), but he had the feeling that she might enjoy the competition. Playing games was a decent distraction from life and he needed a break from worrying. In fact, there was nothing he could do except to wait for however long until Frankie wanted to see him again. He'd devote a portion of his energy to completing homework to perfection and a good chunk of the rest could be used in his games against Ava. That meant he was going all out and she would get another taste of his intensity. Another couple of minutes passed before she appeared.

"Hello," he said cordially, already in no-nonsense, determined to win or die mode. "I hope you rested well because you will need all your energy this evening." That had to be enough incentive for her to become even more charged up to win. "Also, why don't we say the whole day instead of half of it? So, tomorrow the loser will be chilly." He gave her a look that hinted he knew it wasn't going to be him. Needless to say, she had opened up a Pandora's box in him that wasn't released very often (because he thought it best). Ava was a vampire; she could take it, right?

Who: Ava and Nathaniel
Where: the cafeteria and then who knows
When: dinner time
What: vampire picnic! except not.

It had not been very long since he told Frankie and Nathaniel felt numb. A whole blanket of numbness fell over him, everything became monotonous, and if he hadn't had to go to class, he would not have gotten out of bed. He needed to eat, yes, that was still very important, and right now it was nearing dinner. He had eaten so regularly before that he only grew hungry at precise times and he left his room to head towards the cafeteria.

He should not stay for long because if he saw Frankie, it'd only hurt more, but then again he needed to see her if only for a moment. Maybe that was not going to happen; he had to hope it did. Nathaniel had not realized how much seeing Frankie often meant to him and going without was like breaking off pieces of his heart and crushing them beneath someone's foot. So without enjoyment, he took his blood and headed to one of the tables. He did not drink yet. Instead, he stared at the red liquid before him, his dark hair falling over his forehead.

The daily reminder he was different. Now, surprisingly, he cared less about drinking blood and more about the horrible urges that came with bloodlust. How easy it was to lose control - no, he would never let that happen again. No more people he loved being hurt, so he would control himself fiercely for the rest of his life. He knew that before and his opinion was confirmed doubly now. Finally he took a sip of the blood.

Saturday, 11/3/07

Who: Frankie and Nathaniel
When: evening
Where: the roof
What: Instead of being happy on his birthday like a normal person, Nathaniel decides to share the dark secret of his past.

Nathaniel awoke on his birthday and soon grim determination set in his mind. As he showered and dressed, he thought of how things could go wrong and the necessity of telling his girlfriend about the darkest part in his past. It needed to be done. He spent most of the morning rereading his text on dinosaurs to help distract him and before lunch he received a brief call from his brother Adam wishing him a happy birthday. That did wonders to lift his spirits and he went to have a brief meal in the cafeteria. His parents called not long after that and he had a pleasant conversation with them, informing how classes were going. His mother insisted he spend more time with Frankie and her friends so she knew he wanted to be even more involved in her life. That was easily done, Nathaniel told her.

After he spoke to his parents, the hours left until he was to have dinner on the roof passed slowly, but the time arrived at last. He put on his favorite navy blue blazer and headed to the place they agreed upon to meet. And then there she was, as lovely as ever, and Nathaniel greeted Frankie with a gentle kiss. "Hi," he said with a small smile, though his enthusiasm was not to the same degree as normal. They walked to the stairs leading to the roof and Nathaniel took something out of his pocket to help him pick the lock - a skill he didn't use often, considering he learned it from his brother when they were teenagers. It was not long before they found themselves on the roof and sat.

He knew he had to reveal his secret, but a small, selfish part of himself wanted to have a little enjoyment before he did. Nathaniel moved closer to her, eyes their usual intensity. "I'm not ready to eat just yet," he said before he kissed her. The kiss grew more passionate and he took a hold of her waist to shift so that there was little distance between them. This was all he wanted right now, to set him up for what he had to tell her very soon.

Saturday - 10/20/07

Who: Everyone who received invites
When: Saturday night, starting around 8 pm
Where: The student lounge
What: Frankie's surprise party!

When it came to planning big, elaborate things, Vinnie wasn’t so good at it. Luckily, when it came to planning and working on stuff for Frankie’s surprise party, Nate had his back. He and Nate were gonna split the cost of supplies and stuff for the shindig itself and Nate was also gonna bake the cake, which was a huge relief. Vinnie wasn’t very skilled in the cooking or baking departments so he was glad that Nate at least was. As for the rest of the food, the two guys had managed to get stuff from the kitchens, so that was another huge relief.

The invites to the surprise bash had been sent out earlier in the week and Vinnie was happy to see the responses he had been getting. It seemed like it was gonna be a good sized party after all! Hopefully, Frankie would like her surprise. He didn’t doubt she would, though. Vinnie was pretty sure his sister was gonna be ecstatic about it.

After his last class of the day, Vinnie ran out to Party City to get balloons, streamers and other decorations to put up in the student lounge. Once he got back to the school, he changed his clothes, grabbed the supplies and his iPod and headed off to the kitchens for all the food. Luckily, the kitchen staff had set everything up on a food cart for him so that all he had to do was move it over to the table. Sweet deal.

With the loaded cart on hand, Vinnie headed off to the lounge to get everything ready. The first thing he did when he got into the lounge was hook up his iPod to the sound system. He needed music to entertain him while he set everything up. Once that was done, he grabbed all the drinks and bowls and plates of chips, dips, cheeses and other finger foods and spread them across the large table in the lounge, placing Nate’s homemade cake in the middle. Next came the decorations. He hung red streamers from the ceiling to all the walls, blew up a ton of red balloons and hung up a huge sign that said ‘Happy Birthday Frankie!’ on the wall across from the door.

Once he was done with all that, he plopped on one of the sofas he had moved out of the way to create a ‘dance floor’ and let out a sigh of slight exhaustion as he waited for the guests to start arriving.

Who: Frankie and Nathaniel
Where: in the city
When: in the evening before the party
What: celebrating Frankie's birthday doctor vampire style.

Nathaniel was a heterogeneous mixture of fear and excitement, feeling exactly like someone did before jumping off a high diving board. He knew that he was to enjoy himself making sure Frankie had a good time and so there was no reason to worry. The only hitch happened to be that he'd never gone so quickly in a relationship until now and today things might move even further. If he relaxed, he would be fine. Nathaniel asked Frankie to meet him outside the school so they could catch a taxi to the restaurant he had chosen. He figured the same restaurant they went to on their first date would be good and made reservations, giving them enough time to eat and other activities after. That part was hidden from everyone except himself.

They met, Nathaniel complimenting her on how she looked, and found a taxi with little trouble. Once they were inside and took their table, he relaxed more. He'd filled on blood so there was no chance of him being distracted by bloodlust and now they could start conversation again, properly and leisurely. This always happened to be the most difficult part in an evening for him because he liked to start off on the right foot. Yes, that was part of his perfectionistic nature coming to play, and in this instance it made sense. He was sure of it.

"How have you been enjoying your birthday so far?" He had avoided asking this question until now so she would have a good atmosphere in which to tell him everything she'd been up to as he felt it was much too long since they properly talked. Maybe once dinner was underway, he'd give her the first of his presents. It seemed like a good way to start things off - and yes, she would like it, he told himself. His mother had given her approval and his brother offered some X rated tips, some of which he actually considered on using. (Not that he would tell Adam that, for fear of his ego growing even larger.) For right now, however, Nathaniel had to remember to look cheerful (very easy) and smile (again, very easy when he was looking at her).
