Wednesday 12/12/07 Who: Ciri, Nathaniel and Calvin Where: the library When: afternoon What: Someone's out to get Nathaniel.
Nathaniel headed for the library as usual after classes and ran a list of what he wanted to read through his mind. Maybe another do it yourself book because those might be as handy as the treehouse one was. He proved that he was able to make things with his hands and inspired him to continue with that. Rereading textbooks about the human body was a good way to stay sharp and remember what he had learned from medicine even if it made him nostalgic. Regretful. Entering the library, he went to the one of the aisles and picked out a book from a shelf. It was a good place to start.
He had no idea someone was watching him.
Ciri wanted to find a book about the earth and its ecosystems as it was a topic in science, so she had to go to the library. Her stomach hurt a little and she drank a few glasses of water before she left the apartment. Onyx needed lots of liquid to grow and she felt guilty that her stomach had to complain before she realized to give him more. She searched for the right aisle of books, standing next to a dark haired man. After she gave him a smile that he returned, she found a book and turned to the first chapter to see if it was the right one.
She was so lost in her reading that she did not hear a slight creaking from the bookcase in front of her.
Nathaniel did, however, and it was lucky he did in that split second because the creaking grew louder. The bookcase behind the one they were in front of started to fall, he saw through the book shelves, and he only had a couple of seconds. "Watch out!" Nathaniel lunged to push Ciri out of the way just hard enough to send her a good distance away from harm. The bookcase slammed into the one in front of him and pinned him to the floor in the next instance. His head hit the floor hard and he blacked out.
Ciri gasped as she lost her balance and fell to the ground, unable to tear her eyes away from the bookcase as it fell. "No!" The librarian was nowhere to be seen and so Ciri pulled her cell phone out of her pocket shakily. She needed to call Calvin who could easily lift the bookcases off this poor man. As soon as she heard his voice, she spoke. "Please come to the library, bookcases almost fell on me but this man saved me and he is trapped. I think I can see his blood." Her heart pounded, heavy in her chest, and tears dripped down her cheeks.
