Monday 12/17/07 Who: Nathaniel Where: a closet in one of the hallways When: late afternoon What: someone really doesn't like him...
Nathaniel was on his way back from class and walking down the hallway when a glimpse of a familar figure appeared at the end of it. He took a couple of steps forward and thought he saw Ava, so he wanted to say hello. Ava stopped in front of a door and Nathaniel increased his pace to join her there. She said nothing to him, just gave him a smile, which he should have realized was wrong. All of a sudden the door opened and someone pushed him into the closet, not giving him any time to have a safe fall.
He felt a sharp pain in his side so he looked down to learn what was the matter, only to find a metal spike resembling that of a fence buried a few inches in his skin. As he stood normally, the door closed behind him and all light in the tiny room was gone. Nerves rattled, Nathaniel needed to do something about the gash in his side. He withdrew a small pocket flashlight and held it in his mouth as he tore off a piece of his shirt. It did not take very long for him to dress the wound and then he shone the light at the doorknob.
Locked. Damn. Nathaniel withdrew his Swiss army knife from his pocket and bent over to attempt to pick the lock. His side still hurt but he was well practiced in ignoring a call from his body. Once he unlocked the door, he tried the knob again to find it stuck again. Now what was it? It seemed like there was something blocking the door from being opened and it was heavy. He started to worry, just a little. First the bookcases and now this. Where was his phone? A search of his pockets told him it was not there anymore. "What the hell?" he muttered.
There was nothing else he could do. Pulling back his fist, Nathaniel hit the door and broke a small hole through it - though his fist hit something solid. Pushing with one hand was impossible so he enlargened the hole by breaking off pieces of the wood on the edge of the hole and placed his hands against the object. His strength was sapped by his wound, but he pushed nonetheless.
The door opened far enough for him to slip through and he stepped out into the hallway - there was nothing in front of the door! Yet he clearly saw something from the other side... Nathaniel reached out his hand to touch the outside of the door, but his hand met an object that felt like a cabinet. What. The. Hell. A jolt of pain reminded him of what he should be doing and he headed towards Starbuck's place, hoping his friend might heal him. If so, he owed him a huge favor. And he still needed to find his damn phone!
