Who: Frankie and Nathaniel
Where: in the city
When: in the evening before the party
What: celebrating Frankie's birthday doctor vampire style.
Nathaniel was a heterogeneous mixture of fear and excitement, feeling exactly like someone did before jumping off a high diving board. He knew that he was to enjoy himself making sure Frankie had a good time and so there was no reason to worry. The only hitch happened to be that he'd never gone so quickly in a relationship until now and today things might move even further. If he relaxed, he would be fine. Nathaniel asked Frankie to meet him outside the school so they could catch a taxi to the restaurant he had chosen. He figured the same restaurant they went to on their first date would be good and made reservations, giving them enough time to eat and other activities after. That part was hidden from everyone except himself.
They met, Nathaniel complimenting her on how she looked, and found a taxi with little trouble. Once they were inside and took their table, he relaxed more. He'd filled on blood so there was no chance of him being distracted by bloodlust and now they could start conversation again, properly and leisurely. This always happened to be the most difficult part in an evening for him because he liked to start off on the right foot. Yes, that was part of his perfectionistic nature coming to play, and in this instance it made sense. He was sure of it.
"How have you been enjoying your birthday so far?" He had avoided asking this question until now so she would have a good atmosphere in which to tell him everything she'd been up to as he felt it was much too long since they properly talked. Maybe once dinner was underway, he'd give her the first of his presents. It seemed like a good way to start things off - and yes, she would like it, he told himself. His mother had given her approval and his brother offered some X rated tips, some of which he actually considered on using. (Not that he would tell Adam that, for fear of his ego growing even larger.) For right now, however, Nathaniel had to remember to look cheerful (very easy) and smile (again, very easy when he was looking at her).
