Who: Calvin & Ciri
When: Wednesday morning, 2AM
Where: The Kelley Apartment
What: Calvin has a cold
That night, Calvin dreamed of nothing. He was lost in a sleep without happiness or horror, only a cold sweat breaking out as he shivered on his half of the bed. Laying upon his side, his body curled against the blankets or threw them aside throughout his rest. The man was practically unconscious, so far into sleep he didn't wake into his feverish state. He didn't know what lie ahead for the morning. Instead, Calvin rolled onto his back, bare body practically covered with a sheen of sweat not from a night of fun and romance. There was no cough, no sniffles. Nothing but a shiver that ran up his spine. His body was unable to decide if he was hot or cold, unable to fight away the illness that had struck with only the warning of a series of sneezes from the day before.
But what was worse, perhaps, than his body being attacked was the assault on the bedroom. The whole apartment. Calvin had never consciously made the effort to be as powerful in his telekinesis as he could have been. Now, unrestrained in his distress, things started to move across the room in the midst of the night. It was nearly two, but there was a whole of his sleep and the four hours left in his normal slumber for chaos. The side table lamp wiggled on the spot, floating an inch from the surface. Other things around the room lifted far higher. There was almost a static in the air from all the energy being output by his subconscious mind. A handful of breakables shattered on the floor with loud crashes that could wake a person in the living room. But not Calvin. In the living room itself there were magazines and books hovering in mid-air, frozen almost. Other things were thrown back and forth into the walls.
Had Calvin known about what he was doing to his poor apartment, what his darling wife would be waking to, he would have been ashamed. But he didn't know. Even their neighbors might find something a miss, having moved itself in the night, but with luck nothing broke. However, should something fall to pieces, Calvin would be more than willing to replace it. This sort of mental activity and breakdown of his control had happened only once before when he had the flu as a child, but his power had not been so strong then.
