Who: Tad and Dante
What: Breakfast
Where: In town
When: Tuesday Morning
Rating: TBD

Last night... and then ugh, this morning. There really was no sleep for the wicked. Dante felt like he hadn't shut his eyes in days, maybe weeks. Every day as a neverending span of the unknown, waiting, horrible anticipation. Dante wasn't a patient person so it was driving him craz. On top of that Tad had been gone and he couldn't talk to his best friend (how in the fuck had some kid become his best friend?) about his world crashing down on him.

Knocking on the door to Tad, Ciri and Rent-a-cop's apartment (oh yeah and Onyx too, he guessed), Dante waited, drumming his fingers on the doorframe. He was hungry and impatient and literally buzzing in frenzy. Finally the door opened, Ciri standing on the other side looking really damn cute. He always had a soft spot for her, probably because she looked so innocent and he wanted to corrupt her.

"Tad," he said, more a demand than a request. "Oh, and..." After a second's pause, Dante pressed a kiss to her cheek, a kind of goodbye without having to say it. "Stay cute," he instructed her. "Or else."

Who: Ciri and Sydni (with possible appearances of Tad and Onyx)
When: mid-afternoon
Where: the Kelleys' apartment
What: Getting to know each other.

Ciri looked around the apartment, with Tad talking to a few people and looking so happy, and she was elated. Stopping by one person here and there to ensure they were all right, as well as checking the refreshments, she carried the baby monitor with her. All the noise from the party might wake Onyx before it was time for his feeding, although she also missed him and peeked into the room every so often.

She hoped that the party gave her a chance to get to know the guests like it would for Tad, depending on whether she managed to stay still for a little while. Calvin seemed to be having a good time too and she looked at him with a smile on her face before turning to the other people. A dark haired woman was not far away from her Ciri recognized as Sydni, and although they barely knew each other she wanted to start a conversation.

"Hi!" she said as enthusiastically as always. "How are you doing? May I get you something to eat or drink?" The aftereffects of staying up late with a baby showed a little in her eyes, but she managed to maintain her energy and cheerfulness. So far, so good.

Who: Duncan, Ciri, Onyx, Tad?
Where: Ciri's place
When: lunchtime
What: Duncan comes over for lunch to try and remember who Ciri is

She had asked him to bring apple juice. He didn't actually have apple juice, so he ended up purchasing four single-person bottles from the school's cafeteria. He had planned to just go and buy some from a nearby market when he learned he was on lockdown. Actually, he had known, but forgotten, and remembering it was just a little .. unsettling, to say the least.

He had thrown on a baseball cap which clashed with his nice leather jacket and jeans. He felt nervous. He didn't know who this woman was. The little boy, Tad, did, and had tried to help him, but to no avail. The tall half demon rocked on his heels outside Ciri's door after he had made his presence known, holding a paper bag filled with the apple juice.

Saturday 1/13/08

Who: Calvin, Ciri, Tad and Onyx
Where: the hospital
When: evening
What: The baby is here!

After dinner, Ciri felt pangs of pain that were unlike anything she felt before and told Calvin. It meant it was time for Onyx to arrive and she was scared, not to mention trapped in a room instead of under the stars to make matters worse. The pain was great and all she did was breathe with teary eyes, droplets escaping every once in a while. They had gathered Tad and gone to the hospital, where Ciri became lost in a forest of faces and sounds. The actual labor did not take that long and was quick according to the doctors, but Ciri couldn't pay attention to much of anything. Then Onyx was born and as soon as he came out and cried, things began to float around them.

Her baby was in her arms at last and he was incredible. Having her hold him quieted him immediately and Ciri planted a kiss on Onyx's forehead. She wanted everyone to know about her son with Calvin and watched proudly as the doctor did some final necessary things. Finally, the door opened so Tad could come in to see the baby. "You are a big brother now," Ciri said to him and he remained very quiet. She gestured with a finger for him to come closer and he sat on the bed. Ciri gave Onyx to Calvin because she liked seeing them together, then holding Tad's hand.

Love and pride overwhelmed her and it was one of the best feelings in the world. She was very tired, but didn't want to sleep just yet. It was hard when something so exciting and wonderful happened.

Thursday: 1/11/08

Who: James and Ciri
Where: James' office
When: After lunch
What: A meeting between student and sponsor.

James leaned back in his chair, glad that at least one of the students he was sponsoring was coming to have a meeting. He could already tell that Peyton was going to be a handful, but luckily (or unluckily for her) patience was one of his traits. Leaning back in his chair, he ruffled his hands through his hair and let himself descend into thought. He was caught up in the problems she had mentioned working on...

The door was open into his office, which was clumped with books and a large chalkboard covered in equations. He was not a tidy man, nor a fan of technology, which left a great deal of clutter around his living space. Still, he could find everything he needed, and found no need to organize when it would only inhibit his work. He preferred everything to be in arms reach. He glanced at the clock and realized that lunch was just about to end and that Ciri should be arriving shortly. He was pensive about meeting the student, having never taught before, but he didn't see how it could be that difficult. He'd spent enough time watching teachers he'd picked up a thing or two.

Friday 12/27/07

Who: Ciri, Duncan and Tad
Where: the Kelleys' apartment
When: Afternoon
What: Hot drinks!

Ciri had such a good time having Duncan over with her family that she decided to have another get together. Once she took a liking to someone, she siezed opportunities to see them and this was a holiday with plenty of excuses to be sociable. Though admittedly she was flighty in her attention at times, which had improved once Tad came to live with them. Now it was all about her growing family and making sure they were happy. She was sure having hot chocolate with Tad and Duncan was an activity they'd all enjoy.

She prepared mugs, hot chocolate mix and other things, then asking if Tad liked the idea. He seemed to be in a good mood and agreed to it without much persuasion.... until she asked him to go to Duncan's place to offer the suggestion. Tad huffed and Ciri knew he was not good with tact yet, adding the incentive of seeing the teacher's apartment. There could very well be cool items in it considering how old Duncan was. That cinched the deal for the elemental and he ran out of the apartment just after she told him where to go.

Against his better judgement, Tad liked Duncan if only for his cheerful attitude. There better be interesting things in his place because otherwise Tad was dragging the man back to the apartment to make Ciri happy. He ran to the right section, he was sure, and kicked Duncan's door twice. What was the point of knocking when he could make a larger and greater sound? "Duncan!" he called loudly. "I got to ask you something!"

Saturday 12/22/07

Who: Everyone!
What: Winter Social
Where: Recreation Center
When: Saturday, starting at 7pm

As expected, the school had turned the recreation center on its ear with awesomeness. What was once a place of pool tables and board games had become a frosty winter wonderland. The walls were decorated in classic Victorian Christmas fashion, a garland of evergreen and velvet ribbons strung along the ceiling, burning gas lamps filling the room with a soft glow. The refreshmant tables were draped in dark green tablecloths, shining silver platters and a sparkling crystal punch bowl serving finger foods and warm cider. Hot cocoa was available in perfectly polished silver pitchers. Classical Christmas music played through the stereo system, giving the room an old world feel. The most striking piece in the room, however, was the fifteen foot evergreen tree that took up the far back corner. Covered in ribbons, glass balls and tiny colored lights, it seemed to give off an ethereal glow. A brilliant white star topeed the display, a shining beacon that attracted the eye like moths to a flame. This was the room where students and staff could sit in overstuffed chairs, sip mulled cider and talk quietly, and simply bask in the glow of a warm winter evening.

For those who desired more kick in their Feliz Navidad, the basketball court upstairs looked like a disco Christmas- mirrored balls hung from the ceiling while strings of blinking colored lights hung corner to corner across the ceiling. Long strands of tinsel were draped over the table where the turntables were set up, the hired DJ playing typical dance club music. Whilst wearing a Santa hat, of course.

Outside, the grounds were still covered in the new snow that had fallen on Sunday, with a crisp fresh layer added courtesy of the ice mage faculty members. The outdoor pool was also frozen solid, and ice skates were available to borrow from the rec center gym. Paths were shoveled in the snow so students could walk from place to place, each path illuminated by white pillar candled placed inside frosted glass bulbs set along the footpaths.

Who: Arc, Ciri, Duncan and OPEN
Where: hallway
When: midday
What: water balloon prank

Before classes, Arc was bored and decided to spice up her life by playing a harmless prank on someone. Water balloons were the items of choice and she was fortunate to still have several left. She filled three with water, bringing them with her down the hallway. Hiding in a nearby corner of a corridor was the perfect spot to watch and wait. Who would her victim be? Thankfully Jeffrey was not here because he would disapprove, and the baby would give her cover away. Cassie needed to be here to get in on all the fun!

Ciri walked back from the library down the corridor, satisfied with the time she spent reading.about various parts of the natural world. She had no books, but was bundled up in sweaters and had a bounce in her step as she moved. A smile was present on her face like always and she could not wait to find Tad. Just when she reached a hallway, she saw Duncan at the other end. Wonderful, a friend! Ciri grinned and waved at him, increasing her pace to walk up to him sooner. "Hi, Duncan!" she said. "How are you?" She touched his arm in greetng. Onyx moved a little, a gentle fluttering and made her happy. "Onyx is glad to see you too!"

Who: Calvin, Ciri, Tad
When: 7Pm
Where: The new Kelley apartment
What: Calvin has a gift to give Tad

In light of moving, and the holidays approaching, Calvin was not only in a fantastically cheery mood, but he was feeling amazingly generous. Earlier that morning a moving van had rolled up to the school and Calvin had told the men with the large box filled with wooden panels that he had help and would be fine getting the object up the stairs. They left and Calvin lifted the item by himself, steadying it with his hands as his telekinesis carried the box up the stairs to the apartment. While both Ciri and Tad had been out of the apartment, Calvin had worked as quickly as he could on his lunch break. When he'd run out of time and had to resume work he locked the door to Tad's new bedroom behind him. A note was left reading, "Surprise inside! Do not open!" so Tad would not get too terribly angry.

After work he returned to the apartment to greet his wonderful wife with kisses, and a warm hair shake. "How was your day?" he asked of them while putting dinner together. "Do anything exciting today? I learned that, apparently, cherry bombs can blow up in a toilet. But my day was boring as all get out. Please, please, please tell me you two did something fun!" Smiling, he sat on the kitchen counter while waiting for the meal to cook on up. After he served the two he'd be returning to work in the bedroom. He really hoped Tad would enjoy his early Christmas gift.

"Ah! Ciri, before I forget. I was thinking this weekend we could all decorate the Christmas tree? I got a fake one at the store so we don't have a mess when we're done." And so they didn't have to cut down a perfectly wonderful tree for the sake of a holiday.

Monday 12/10/07

Who: Ciri and Duncan
Where: the cafeteria
When: midday
What: a slightly odd meeting

Lunch time neared and Ciri thought she'd go to the cafeteria to see if she might see anyone she knew. Eating with Calvin was one of the nicest part of her day, so being with a friend had to be almost as nice. She stood near the doorway, scouting for people and was disappointed. Wait, did she see correctly? A couple of blinks because suddenly her vision was fuzzy... and Calvin was by the shelves of food, near the desserts in particular. Confused, as she thought Calvin was working, she paused only a moment before she hurried forward and wrapped her arms around him for a hug. "Hi, Calvin!" she greeted and noticed he seemed shorter than usual.

Another few blinks and the image of her husband disappeared, morphing into a man she had not seen before (with brown hair at least, though). Ciri was so confused. "I am sorry. You looked like my husband until I came this close," she said. Not one to be flustered for very long, she stepped back and gave him a bright grin. "My name is Ciri. You have pretty eyes." Meanwhile, the fact that she had mistook him for Calvin worried her - she hadn't been in the cafeteria very long before she saw him. Was the baby making her see odd things? Just in case she was tired, she brushed her hair away from her forehead which helped her wake up sometimes.

Her confusion and slight worry was obvious as she was never one to hide her emotions although it only lasted for a very short time. Meeting someone new was always exciting and this happened to be no exceptions. Her hand fell to her navel, rubbing a little. "I wanted to eat lunch but none of my friends are here." Not that she had spent much time with them lately and that needed to be fixed at once. "May I sit with you?" If he was not going to remain here, that was fine, she'd eat alone. Her expression remained cheery and eyes shone up curiously at him.

Saturday, 12/8/07

Who: Calvin, Ciri and Tad
When: midday
Where: the Kelleys' place.
What: Homework (maybe) and lunch.

Tad gathered his homework and packed it in his bag, leaving his room and locking the door behind him. Heading to the Kelleys' room, he reached into his pocket to take hold of the sparkling rock he had found yesterday with Cassie. Someone must have liked it before and he was going to put it to good use as well. His heart thumped hard as his footsteps sounded on the stone floor, thoughts flickering between Calvin who had complimented him (Roger too) and Ciri. He had little idea why he liked the two, but they were so happy and he wanted to be happy too.

Was being nice to people going to make him happy? How could he make friends? Did he have to be older in order to do that? Puzzling questions swirled around and distracted him as he walked. They were making him weaker, these people, turning him softer. His stomach flip-flopped and warmed like it did when Lucile baked cookies for him. Before he knew it, he reached the door and knocked on it with red cheeks and a quick pounding heart. Ciri opened the door after a little while and grinned at him. "Hi," he said softly and walked in when Ciri stepped back to let him inside the place. "I found something nice." Tad pulled the quartz out of his pocket and held it out for her to take.

"Wow!" Ciri took the rock and lifted it up to the light to see it sparkle. "It is wonderful! Where did you find it? Are you going to put it on the windowsill? It can catch the light and then you have rainbows all over your floor." He walked to the sofa to sit down on it and removed a notebook from his bag - English, unfortunately.

First he had to answer her questions. "Cassie and me found it in a secret room. I'm going to put it on my table because it looks nice there," he said. "I got some pictures too of outside places and people smiling. They have words on the back with names and stuff." Tad shrugged. He hadn't paid attentention to the names of the people in the pictures, but maybe it was the nice thing to do. Ciri liked hearing about the secret room already, he could tell by the way she smiled.

Mon 11/19/07

Who: Calvin and Ciri
When: late afternoon
Where: their apartment
What: They heard the baby's heartbeat.

Ciri had not said a word throughout the visit to the doctor's or on the way back to the school. It was unusual for her, but she could not help it. She was just stunned, both happy and scared from the proof that a tiny life grew inside of her. Knowing this made her decide to be more cautious about what she did and ate for the baby's sake. They arrived at the apartment finally and she stepped inside once the door was unlocked. Without a word, she walked over to the sofa and sat on it as well as tucking her legs beneath her.

This was her baby and she had to protect him for Calvin's (and Go'al'enu's) sake. Until recently, she took care of herself and relied heavily on Calvin's help, but the baby would need him even more. Everything had to be perfect and thus she'd have a child who helped the earth, also making good friends of all races. She wanted to give their child so much love and he'd spread it as well to make lots of people happy. Ciri wondered what the baby would look like, if it was a boy or a girl; she hoped it had Calvin's hair, eyes and especially his smile. A thoughtful expression remained on her face as she slid off her socks and shoes. "What do you think the baby will look like?" she asked her husband as she rested her back on the sofa, staring at her toes in the air.

Who: Ciri and Sketch (with Calvin if he wants to pop in!)
Where: The Kelleys' apartmenet
When: evening, after dinner
What: Sketch teaches Ciri how to bake a chocolate cake.

Ciri had a great day so far. The saplings were growing nicely, she had a nice walk, and dance class was so much fun! It was hard for her to imagine herself with a large stomach in the future to prevent her from dancing as much as she did now. That part was sad although the idea of bringing Calvin's baby into the world made it difficult to be sad for very long. At the moment, her top priority was baking! Sketch had promised to bring ingredients with her so they were able to bake a cake and Ciri could not wait! She ate her dinner in excitement, helped Calvin wash the dishes and proceeded to sit, antsy, on the sofa.

Then came a knock on the door and a gasp escaped her before she realized it. Her friend was here! Ciri rushed to the entrance, opened the door and threw her arms around Sketch to give her a hug. "Hi!" she greeted. "I will help you carry something." She took one of the things out of Sketch's hands and led the way to the kitchen. So, where to start? With a cake, she supposed there needed to be a bowl for the batter and she withdrew one from the cabinet. "Okay! Here is a bowl. What else do we need?" Ciri appeared to be clueless, but really she was a quick learner if the teacher was patient enough.

A spoon for stirring. She had seen Calvin's mother use one a few times before and so she got out a wooden spoon from one of the drawers. Her face was now serious as she was determined. They would make a delicious cake, she was sure!

Wednesday 11/7/07

Who: Calvin & Ciri
When: Wednesday morning, 2AM
Where: The Kelley Apartment
What: Calvin has a cold

That night, Calvin dreamed of nothing. He was lost in a sleep without happiness or horror, only a cold sweat breaking out as he shivered on his half of the bed. Laying upon his side, his body curled against the blankets or threw them aside throughout his rest. The man was practically unconscious, so far into sleep he didn't wake into his feverish state. He didn't know what lie ahead for the morning. Instead, Calvin rolled onto his back, bare body practically covered with a sheen of sweat not from a night of fun and romance. There was no cough, no sniffles. Nothing but a shiver that ran up his spine. His body was unable to decide if he was hot or cold, unable to fight away the illness that had struck with only the warning of a series of sneezes from the day before.

But what was worse, perhaps, than his body being attacked was the assault on the bedroom. The whole apartment. Calvin had never consciously made the effort to be as powerful in his telekinesis as he could have been. Now, unrestrained in his distress, things started to move across the room in the midst of the night. It was nearly two, but there was a whole of his sleep and the four hours left in his normal slumber for chaos. The side table lamp wiggled on the spot, floating an inch from the surface. Other things around the room lifted far higher. There was almost a static in the air from all the energy being output by his subconscious mind. A handful of breakables shattered on the floor with loud crashes that could wake a person in the living room. But not Calvin. In the living room itself there were magazines and books hovering in mid-air, frozen almost. Other things were thrown back and forth into the walls.

Had Calvin known about what he was doing to his poor apartment, what his darling wife would be waking to, he would have been ashamed. But he didn't know. Even their neighbors might find something a miss, having moved itself in the night, but with luck nothing broke. However, should something fall to pieces, Calvin would be more than willing to replace it. This sort of mental activity and breakdown of his control had happened only once before when he had the flu as a child, but his power had not been so strong then.

Who: Ciri and Sami
Where: the grounds
When: before breakfast/classes
What: meeting.

Another morning found Ciri in a good mood as usual, nor was it surprising that she ate breakfast quickly and headed outside for her morning walk. She needed to take advantage of the weather before it became too cold and she knew she was going to miss the walk as a ritual. The crisp air greeted her and she inhaled each breath happily. Time to see the saplings! She walked in the direction where the baby trees were and knelt besides them to share news of what had happened the previous day. "...and that was when he started to tickle me!" Ciri said, grinning. "Calvin is sweet. I want to be a good mother for his baby and you young trees too!" She leaned forward to brush her fingertips over one of the sapling's leaves ever so gently. "I wonder if there are tiny dryads within you...if the Earth Goddess has decided to trust me with them. It would be incredible!"

The sun climbed a little higher in the sky, indicating that it was time for her to continue with her walk. "I have to go now. Bye!" The saplings moved their leaves slightly from the small breeze that just appeared and she knew it was their way of wishing her farewell. She stood, waved at them and started to walk along the campus. A sweet little song escaped her and she glanced at the sky and the trees around her, a bounce in her step appearing as she moved. Heading toward her was a man she did not recognize. That was a reason for her to introduce herself because she had nothing to lose if she did so.

Ciri increased her pace and put on her best friendly grin as she walked nearer to him. "Hi!" It seemed like a good place to start, along with her name, of course. "My name is Ciri. You must enjoy morning walks as well if you are out so early like me." She slipped her cold hands into her jacket pockets.
